hey need some advise.. is it ok to take 8600GTS? or it's better to top up a bit to get 8800GTS 320MB instead? is there any big difference between 8600GTS and 8600GT?

yeah i know as recommended from the homepage :
*Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amp Amps.)* but i just wanna know what PSU are used by our forumer here as i believe 400w is just enough for it, so i wanna ask whether if i use PSU more than 500W it'll be an 'overkill'.. anyway thanks for the feedback.. |

QUOTE(rockmaniac85 @ Jun 17 2007, 10:56 AM) Yeah but not so soon yet.. actually i kena some ebay scam.. actually it's quite unlucky for me since it's the 1st time i buy from ebay, and straigh away kena dy.. (but it's due to my fault also for being greedy, as i was taking risk to get the 8800GTS 640MB, that US seller only sell it for around rm1k + shipping, i should have known that, and learn a lesson), but it's still lucky to get back for around 90% amount of the money back, but i have to wait for around 40 - 50 days for the paypal to investigate.@dattebayo, i want to get 8800GTS 320mb version but i cant get back my money so soon, and i need a GC very soon, so already grabbed a 2nd hand 7900GT from garage sales, so maybe wait till they have a pricecut (hopefully it's not rumor This post has been edited by nicholas_1213: Jun 17 2007, 04:24 PM |

I've asked this question before, but on 8800GTS 640MB, 500W should be enough.. but definitely not enough for SLI. try reading few previous pages, or u can go to the given website to calculate the power supply that u need..

QUOTE(TomatomanzSeedlezz @ Jun 23 2007, 12:54 AM) To be exact, I meant "depreciation"... in price Oh totally understood For example, if u have 5900XT and wanna sell off coz u wanna get 6600GT (or any card in that matter). But u heard 6600GT its price-drop in a weeks time. If u waited for that few weeks time, but at the same time, ur 5900XT selling value will be depreciate. (Ooo.. next mth cheaper by rm100, at the same time.. dam.. my old card had to sell less (depreciate) rm100... sumthin like tat Unless, u not selling yer 3Dcard for the next coming card, which ppl shld wait for the price drop. Errmmz... i hope u understand.. my "england" not guud Cheers |
