Sooo...the rich doesn't need common sense eh?

Hahaha to be fair, I actually know one guy who is quite rich. He is quite naive when it comes to spending power of common people that you have to explain it to him that people cant afford something.
You wouldnt believe this kind of people existed until you actually met one like i did. After I met him I realise that sometimes the super rich, doesnt think like most people do.

It all depends on how you wish to interpret the movie.

The director left it open ended for a reason. It’s for you to visualize as how you wish

Among the notable endings that I could interpret: -

1) Right from the beginning Arthur had been in the asylum (he was seen banging his head at a white background during the initial psychiatrist session). All that happens thereafter was purely his imagination right up to the end of the movie where he was in the same / another psychiatrist session

2) He life ended when he went into the refrigerator to kill himself (A quick shift of scene into him waking up to the phone call by Bill Murray suggests he is hallucinating). He did imagine he was an audience during the Bill Murray show when Bill invited him on stage and said he wish he has a son like Arthur.

3) In real life, he did kill Bill Murray and the scene change into him being captured in a police car. However, the scene where an ambulance rammed into the police car and his followers saved and idolize him is fake. As there was a quick scene change from when he was standing on the police car being cheered right into him being in an asylum, it could suggest that he was hallucinating. In addition, the psychiatrist asked him what is so funny, and he just smiled and say you wouldn’t understand

WTF, voting hasn't started. Smear campaign already firing up. Shall see what's the final result. Pretty sure everyone goes for Scorsese's The Irishman for filmmaking excellence. Surprisingly Goldderby frontrunner went to Adam Driver for Marriage Story.

Half a billion dollars worldwide gross on a budget of $55-70 million!

$543 million worldwide gross! blink.gif

Hope to see more 'experimental' DC Black films... these are territories Disney/MCU would shy away.

Dats where ur makin the mistake. Not every DC villains are Joker.

Past DCEU trilogy: Mos, BvS & JL was trashed by critics & fans alike for being too dark...and yeah...visually those films were "dark" courtesy of Snyder's photophobia 🤣🤣🤣

Plus in order to experiment, you gotta have be backed by real talent at helm. Speakin abt director. Along with James Wants (Aquaman) & WW director, Todd Philips have managed to strike an ace, thx to their films dedicated actors. Dare say no one could ever pull-off WW better than Gal Gadot, or Aquaman better than Jason Mamoa or Joker than Joaquin Phoenix.

With this joker, what will happen with Jared Leto's joker? As Harley Quinn of suicide squad is still alive (birds of prey movie). Will this be a standalone movie? Are we going to ignore Leto's incarnation?

There are many epic scenes in this movie. Here's some clips and reactions online (warning spoilers)

Joker dances in bathroom scene. If we dance like that it's cringy; Joaquin does it so beautifully yet creepy. It's an art

Arthur met Bruce Wayne

Joker dances on stairs. Some epic reaction by the crowds in theatres. This clip is closest to that right now

Joker draws a smile with his blood, tear drop can be clearly seen. Signifies that Arthur has died, Joker rises. Sad and scary.

Joaquin and Todd Philips created one of the best movies in history

Think they are shelving Leto's Prince of Crime. Guess boils down to Reeves's Batman reception. Whether recast or repackage Leto for future iteration. Arthur Fleck meant to be a standalone and won't interact at all with DCEU continuity.

It's sad to see if they didn't continue this joker as it was spot on. But I understand it will be hard to implement in the world full of super power beings. A different joker than Heath but really someone who we can relate.

We all know it's the worst. What I meant is how they want to implement a new joker when you used the same Harley Quinn but ignoring Leto.

Anyway can anyone tell me what happen before the part “I just hope my death makes more sense than my life.” in the early movie. Missed that part. Waiting for the kids to sleep before going out for a date with wife 🤣

Watched. It's a great performance by Joaquin. However, I still think Dark Knight's Joker is better.

I think this movie is a hit because it felt so real as it could happen to a society.

prefer HL to JP.
JP did great though.

just that storyline wise is a bit plain vanilla to me and pacing could be quicker.

some scenes lingers on too long and felt unnecessary.
beautiful movie nevertheless in terms of cinematography and locations.

Well, that was what Marvel fans said after Endgame. tongue.gif

Have u watched Joker bro? What was your rating? I’ve seen your comment all over the place, never saw your rating yet. brows.gif

To me, in order to really appreciate this Joker movie, you got to have feelings, you got to feel what’s Arthur felt, you have to understand the character development. Else you’ll felt this movie bland like my wife. Because she didn’t care about what Arthur’s been through throughout the movie.

1 more thing, this Joker doesn’t try to be as Heath, its totally different, I’m not sure why people kept on saying he tried hard to be Heath. He’s unique, and the most logical Joker’s introduction I have ever known. Toxic society! thumbup.gif

Finally, I watched the film tonight. 3/5 or 7/10 imo. And dats being super lenient

One thing bothered me. Why didn't the director push the envelope? Like really. I can understand Phoenix's portrayal was meant to be relatable, epic. I wanted more screen-time of Robert de Niro, more of Bruce Wayne, or his actions abt his agenda..or extend Joker's ferocity or display his smartness in my favourite scene of the film (train segment). Joaquin Phoenix gave his best performance...and dare say very few actors could do justice to this film. But I was left wanting more

Unless it's sequel has lotsa in-store, I'd rather prefer Heath's portrayal. I'm saying this cuz Russo Brother's Captain America: Winter Soldier & Civil War added lotsa weight & value to 1st film, CA: The first Avenger.

I'm saying this unless Joker 2 rocks by pushing the envelope, I'd pick Ledger considering his anarchist agenda stroke terror in me (and pretty sure most viewers watching him). Phoenix was sympathetic character till last 30 mins or so. Really wished makers pushed the envelope giving us more Joker than Arthur Fleck

Ahahaha, yup agreed with everything that u said, its entirely different than Heath since he has been the Joker for quite some time and this is why he is the best Joker since he got the chance to portrayed Joker in its full glory. Heath is an anarchist type, while Joaquin to me is a psychopath after everything that he has been thru with his life. Both of them are awesome! Its just that like u said, we have yet to see Joaquin‘s Joker in its full glory like Heath’s, as this is just the origin story and to me, it’s damn awesome!! Especially on the last 30 mins. Ha-ha-ha. biggrin.gif

But a major turn off for me after dwelling deep regarding this movie, turns out it could all be just a total BS created by Arthur, as the director want us to think and interpret the movie ourself. Haha. There are few clues that could led to Arthur just simply made up all the story and all of it was not real. Haha.
