Superb film, but still think Heath Ledger is the best joker. Kinda a drag if you ask me, but I love the way it's being presented. Masterful storytelling that's very relevant to our current times. Showcasing joker's reputation for being unpredictable and an unreliable narrator, it expertly blurs the lines between what's real and what's not, who's right and who's wrong. It's all a matter of perspective and open to interpretation.

Wouldn't call it a masterpiece, also I think it's a bit overrated. but it's definitely a solid film. 4/5 from me

5/5 from me. Damn Dark for a comic book movie. Definitely the best Joker, sorry Heath. This Joker is much violence and I love that it had comic book vibe throughout the movie. Poor Tony Stank, can kiss goodbye to Oscar. Ha-ha-ha.

Heath's Joker is fun to watch. Joaquin's Joker is really epic. You feel sad and scared at the same time. I think people with depression and having same thoughts are better not watching this film. A super actor can get in a character and out of it. People with problems had better not dwell on his thoughts and feeling

Haha same thought as me. But I believe only certain people will appreciate Joaquin’s joker. Like my wife, she doesn’t share the same view as me. Maybe those people who have been in depression state only can appreciate the movie better. brows.gif

Did Tony stank...sorry did rdj even showed an oscar-worthy performance? 🤣🤣🤣 All he did was being his usual self...

JP even from trailer itself showed phenomenal method acting...and I believe dude lost abt 40 pounds for this film...and all the praises be received for his portrayal in the film....dayum... Oscar confirmed😂😂😂

Well, that was what Marvel fans said after Endgame. tongue.gif

Have u watched Joker bro? What was your rating? I’ve seen your comment all over the place, never saw your rating yet. brows.gif

To me, in order to really appreciate this Joker movie, you got to have feelings, you got to feel what’s Arthur felt, you have to understand the character development. Else you’ll felt this movie bland like my wife. Because she didn’t care about what Arthur’s been through throughout the movie.

1 more thing, this Joker doesn’t try to be as Heath, its totally different, I’m not sure why people kept on saying he tried hard to be Heath. He’s unique, and the most logical Joker’s introduction I have ever known. Toxic society! thumbup.gif

Dad: what kind of coward will hide behind mask for doing vigilante, i mean crime
Son (few years later) : hold my wayne

Great act from JP, but to me its not fair to compare with HL due to different screen time, i must say.

I am yet to catch the film bro. My schedule is tight till end of this month...I might catch it durin Deepavali holiday season🤣🤣🤣 but I do caught up the film's overwhelmingly positive reviews barring 2-3 mixed ones...watched some reviews from my trustable YouTube channels....and they were positive towards the film as well.

Joker trailer itself created an impact...and I except nothin else from the film for sure. Seems like I'm already sold with JP's method acting

Both Heath's Joker and Phoenix's Joker are amazingly good, and both for different reasons.

Oscar-worthy performance by Phoenix right here.

The Joker (2019)

QUOTE
Eichmann in Jerusalem

Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil is a 1963 book by political theorist Hannah Arendt. Arendt, a Jew who fled Germany during Adolf Hitler's rise to power, reported on Adolf Eichmann's trial for The New Yorker. A revised and enlarged edition was published in 1964.

Overview
Arendt's subtitle famously introduced the phrase "the banality of evil," which also serves as the final words of the book. In part, at least, the phrase refers to Eichmann's deportment at the trial as the man displayed neither guilt for his actions nor hatred for those trying him, claiming he bore no responsibility because he was simply "doing his job"

(Excerpt from Wikipedia)

I know, it is strange, to do a excerpt from Wikipedia to describe a movie, and for the life of me, it is the best way, I can think of, to, describe this movie...

I am not sure, if Warner Bros know what they have, here, in this movie.

This is 2019's A Clockwork Orange (1971). It is THAT definitive...

It is Dark.

It is Intense.

This is a far cry Joker, compared with what Jared Leto's attempt at the role.

There is NOTHING comic book about this.

Joaquin Phoenix, not quite sure how to state this, of you know the song, Everybody Hurts, you will know what I mean.

He has known pain and suffering in his life. I am NOT a Joaquin Phoenix expert, and have to add, I do know what he was with River Phoenix when he O.D. and died. Maybe that is what he was channeling when he took on this role.

It is breathtaking...

There are so many maybes in this movie

This is a really excellent and difficult movie to sit through, it is THAT dark.

It is almost unfathomable that the director of The Hangover (2009) did this. It further proves that humor and horror do have similar beats..

The cherry on top, Robert De Niro.

This movie, you need to experience for yourself.

I humble submit to you, my two sen.

This one no laughing matter la aiyo🤣🤣🤣 remember the mass shooting incident that took place when Dark Knight Rises premiered?

Just imagine what would've been the mindset of victims when got shot to death just when they watched epic conclusion to their Batman trilogy....what abt the fans dat escaped? Sure as hell would've suffered PTSD till date...unless few strong-willed souls have managed to overcome such traumatic event.

And talk abt Joker...who embodies chaos, psychotic nature & all-out badassery. The fear must've been 10-fold

JOKER (2019)

... and here we go!

This is one rare origin movie, that’s both shockingly surreal and hauntingly relateable!

What I enjoyed most and truly appreciated, of this movie, is the fact that we, as an audience, were shown, not just told but actually shown, of how Joaquin's character, Arthur, tried to cope with the bad hand ... no, cruel hand that he's dealt with, every single day ... right down to that final moment of total descend to madness!

Truly, to witness someone with a medical condition, treading on some mighty thin ice of sanity, while being shredded apart by the cruelty of society, is hard to watch ... but what makes it even more heartbreaking, is learning how much he holds on to his mother's advise of "My mother always tells me to smile and put on a happy face!”

Just about every scene of the movie tips on Arthur’s character transformation … and while many highlighted about how gradual that process is, I personally thought the movie was perfectly paced, enough to get the audience to be truly invested in Arthur and the struggle that he goes through.

Frankly speaking, I was so invested that there was a point in the movie that I was secretly wishing for some ray of sunshine on his life ... and even then ... darn!

This movie puts a smile on my face … but not before experiencing the tragic downward spiral roller coaster ride, that’s destined towards witnessing the fall of Arthur and the rise of the Joker!

What a ride!
