I have a quite intensive review over this I will look it up for you later!
In short persona is more comfortable to drive long distance and for passenger. FC not the best but is good enough, especially for highway speed.
Bezza lesser pick up, more featured packed and better FC.
For myvi..... Honestly, if I'm a person who looks for money for value myvi is the best right now.
Edit : I can get 400 to 420km per tank. This is city driving, with mixture of highway and most township raod. Persona fuel tank is 40L

thanks guy, yea i think im convinced to give it a go. Will discuss with my partner.

FC for city driving still OK for me but if long distance will be great. FC still depend on how you drive it. I have seen people been driving 500km in a single tank.

In terms of the car as a whole, not a superb car from the beginning but there are lots of space for improvement (have to fork out more money to mod it).

I have begun to mod it even it just 2 months car and I started to enjoy even more with the car.

The reason I choose Persona over Bezza/MyVi:

1. Family: I need boot space for my daughter stuff. My Honda Jazz Hybrid suck at the department.
2. I don’t like bontot tongeng.
3. Safety: 6 airbags + others safety mechanisms.

Issue with this car is not really a big headache. Small minor rattling noise here and there.

It all boil down to the objective of you buying this car. If it meet your requirements then you can go ahead to place an order.

Hope this helps.
To be honest, not at all. Rattling noise is the main thing most of us face. I read some people have major issue with Persona but the occurrence is rather rare.

As long as engage with a good SC, problem can be solved.

No worries. Just go and test drive it. If you need recommendation on Sales Advisor (if you are in KV), just drop me a PM. I am happy to help.

That means no CVT droning noise. What's your RPM at 110km/h ?

My CVT unit currently at 25k mileage has a metallic droning noise only during engine braking. Else, everything is fine. Anyone else's CVT has this noise during engine braking (when accelerator pedal fully released)?

-it sounds like the belt's tension suddenly gone slightly loose

High speed travelling is ok. Only hearing tire noises due to, well, Silverstone tyres.

Hi all, any suggestion of reliable Proton agent around Shah Alam that could make a good deal and help for first time car buyer? If you're an agent yourself feel free to reply me. Thanks!

I did crusing a lot with my persona on highway.. 3k rpm when speed around 110kmph. I would say consider high rpm. Hence u will notice some CVT droning due to high rpm, but proton really put a lot of effort in reducing the noise, which works really well. I would say crusing within speed limit is quite comfortable. Unless u speed up to 140-150kmph, then the CVT noise is quite obvious and ear tiring for a long journey.

Why did I buy a Persona?

I wanted a manual car (and I'm not rich)
That will remove stuff like civic type R.
Leaves us, vios, almera, perodua and proton persona / saga.
I was using a Saga BLM and therefore, I wanna upgrade to something better (size and feature). So that strikes out axia, bezza and saga. Leaving almera, vios, persona and myvi.

For manual standard variant, only persona offers good features and safety is not really a luxury package as the standard variant has most of the safety features as well. Meanwhile, other cars require me to purchase the top of the line to get esc or hill start assist and etc.

So it became no brainer for me on which car to choose. Even if I'm not looking for manual, the premium persona offers a lot of features for a lot lesser in price.

Rear seat comfort is one of the reason why I choose persona as well, as I tend to drive people around and I've sat in cars which offers very little thigh support. Those cars are really uncomfortable during long distance. Persona rear seats are slightly inclined too. Perfect for long journey.

Sound proofing? The stock persona has already been sound proofed. It sounded really deadened inside the car. Go to showroom and try driving it. Also open the front bonnet. See how much sound proofing material they placed around the engine compartment.

Proton reliability? Read around other car forums and you realized persona problems is around the same as other car makes, if not lesser. I used saga BLM and although I sent the car to workshop a lot of times. Most of it is around the area where I crashed (one of the reason why I insist on safety features). The parts that i did not crash, lasted me pretty long. So I don't feel proton is as problematic as public perceives it to be.

For future proton persona owner, one thing you need to take note is, parking sensor is really slow. Get the premium variant for the reverse cam if you really need parking assistance. For me, I resort to mark 1 eye ball. Lol

Totally agree on the sound proofing part, try remove the door panel, the rear boot spare tyre, very thick soundproof material comes as standard already. But one my frd complaint to me, persona sound proof is terrible. Well I think some of them dunno how to different CVT noise and external noise..
