Once again, as I mentioned earlier. Those staff sure don't have the real answer in their heads. Some said it's 300Mbps, while their twitter said it's 10X faster, and now this one said 100Mbps is the maximum speed, no further upgrade. Macam macam ada.

IMO, no point to keep bothering the staff. It's a waste of time. Just relax and wait for their announcement.
*
right... everyone's just speculating, incl tm staff. biggrin.gif

seriously, i am quite sure they have capacity to go much higher than 100mbps for normal customer use.

the thing about tm/unifi is whether senior or junior staff, they dun speak clearly or they dun know the facts which is so shameful.

even at press conference or news release, it is not clear if they mean ""double or 10x" or "double or 10x up to max 100mbps".

so, better stop speculating and just wait...

I'm currently subscribed 100mbps pro plan and just did a live chat with TM online support, operator told me that their maximum speed are 100mbps package, no more upgrade.

No official information released to their customer service staffs yet so maximum 100mbps is correct for now until the official announcement on 12th July.

definitely not 10x to 100-500Mbps for everyone innocent.gif

capacity is not an issue, but technical limitation is. Those using VDSL sure hard to touch 100Mbps minimum

Also will be costly if they swap new router for everyone at the same time.

yesterday just went to cyberjaya tmpoint, changed my package.
from 10mbps (this is the my old package from 5mbps upgrade to 10mbps with some tv channels.. rm181 after gst, wtf..  doh.gif  ) to 30mbps (basic hypptv) RM139.

actually wanted to terminate and apply new (getting new equipment). but the cs advised me to changed new package 1st (scared missing 'port') then she will open report damaged device for changing new equipment.

forgot another thing, if terminate and apply new, contract 24 months with this price and back normal price rm179 after 24months.
changed package, this price Rm139 will remain.

Rm139 should be either aneka, ruby or varnam. must ask them which u want.
*
ok. tm tech came my house.

changed new hypptv box (1st gen, EC2108E) to the small white box (Huawei EC6108V8).

try to change vdsl model with the new ZTE-H267A modem.. but half failed to bridge with my tp-link router (TL-WR841N), internet OK but Hypptv failed.

now still using (5years old) huawei (HG-655a) modem with my tp-link router. tech will come back later.

now, should i kept using my tp-link router (should be better wifi range with antenna).. or use the all in 1 (ZTE-H267A modem, router, wifi) ? unsure.gif

Unifi turbo is 10x increase speed? https://www.lowyat.net/2018/165655/unifi-tu...speed-increase/

so 30 mbps = 300 mbps
50 mbps = 500 mbps
100 mbps = 1gbps

So will TM change our modem and router to complement the upgrade?
*
It's pretty much confirmed for the 10x speed increase then since it comes from Unifi's official Twitter.
https://twitter.com/unifi/status/1014078032858869760

Time ppl says "Yawn, been there, done that"
Some may remember, a precedent has already been set here. That's more than 10x so TM is still behind the curve but we're not picky, right?

For existing Time Fibre customers, you should be receiving a confirmation email regarding the upgrade of your current plan. Customers on the 15Mbps Time Fibre plan will automatically be upgraded to the new 300Mbps plan, whereas customers with the 8Mbps plan will now get to enjoy 100Mbps speeds. New customers can immediately sign up for these plans, but they do come with a two-year contract.

*subject to technical limitations, of course.

Bye Bye Time.

You should get your own router! You have to get the modem and HyppTV box from them, which is unavoidable, but get a better router yourself. Plenty of options from Asus as well as TP-Link.

I want to stop speculating, but just another 1 post of this 10x stuff..
and I refer back to some other postings previously.

Broadband speed 10x

Speed = either UL/DL

Streamyx re-badged as 'Broadband' previously

Streamyx min UL speed = 384kbps

---

Bawang announcement:

384kbps x 10 = 300Mbps

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

now let's just wait.
i want to avoid another bawang episode.

Starting upgrading one by one. Doesn't mean you get free upgrade immediately on 15/8. You are lucky if it can be completed by year end.

im still using my own 5 years old Tp-link router (replacing the orange d-link last time).
havent let me down yet..

update:
tech came back again, they cant seem to configure the ZTE modem for bridge mode.. so they configure as default all in one unifi usage.. and request me to use the old Huawei HG655a..

best part is they leave the ZTE to me.. rclxm9.gif so i will try configure it by myself.. got some tutorial here inside lowyat.net to configure.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Nah, confirm won't be 10x for everyone.

If 10x happen, it's more like it's just for the current 100Mbps to 1Gbps. Why? Because current 100Mbps users are obviously using FTTH and also Gigabit Router already. No 'real' cost for TM to just upgrade the speed and not need equipment change. Also, 100Mbps customers are only like 5% of their total Unifi subscribers.

Most ppl are using the 30-50Mbps and probably will be bumped up to 100Mbps.

Subscribe first and get the port. Then get free upgrade starting 15th August later. Do not wait unless you want to get the 30mbps below 100 for b40.
That is for now. Wait further announcement this 12 July.

if i subscribe now they upgrade at august 15th or after 2019...

Of course lah. That's pretty obvious. The tech needs to be there first. For example, if TIME were to follow suit, they can't upgrade a 300mbps user to 3Gbps. Just not possible with the subscriber's existing equipment.

If one is already on FTTH, there's no difference between 10, 30, 50 or 100 other than a numeric field in a database somewhere.

You and I know, but majority of the users most likely don't know about FTTH or VDSL.

Later they don't get 10x, they go complain and blame TM con ppl again.

I also can imagine some ppl will also complain why their download speed cannot achieve 100MB/s on their 1Gbps plan doh.gif
