update: WeChat Pay spend RM10 and get RM5 discount promotion is available in Kuching. Just tried it just now at KK Mart.

Yes, it is meant for nationwide. So, you did see the discount before you paid right?

I let the cashier scan my QR code. then i need to key in my PIN for the transaction to get through. but before i key in the PIN, yes I noticed that the RM5 discount is shown. after I keyed in the PIN, transaction got through, then another page appeared showing me the striked off original price and RM5 discount applied.

so, in short, yes i can see the discount before i pay.

(sorry, I edited my yesterday's post because today I went to try at KK Mart again, and this time I paid more attention to what I see. my yesterday's info was wrong)
