yesterday i went to KK Mart (Kuching) and asked the staff if the buy-RM10-got-RM5-off promo is on, the staff told me that her boss only told her wechat pay is now available but did not tell her such promo. I pointed out to her on the small screen in front of her counter that there is such promo going on, but she replied me that usually the promo is only in Peninsular. So eventually I didnt buy anything.

Actually some of the cashiers have no idea what they are doing. You should try, nothing to lose anyway. Once she scans your QR code and if it shows RM 5 discount then you pay, else you don't pay.

In a way yes, that's how I paid my friends in China. Either with WeChat Pay or Alipay.

I don't think it's location based. The discount is given automatically after you scan your code to pay. On their receipt, it will still show the actual price. Only on our app, the discount is given and the price deducted will be the price after discount.

Nope, based on my experience with llaollao, once the cashier scanned my QR code, keyed in the amount and before I input 6 digit PIN, I can see the RM 5 discount before payment.

Mine only one step. Scan QR code. Next thing receipt is shown on app.

You scan QR code or they scan yours? Mine is they scan mine. I will try again later for llaollao.

I opened up quick pay and scan my device on their scanner, just like how we use mobile app at Starbucks.

I thought here in Malaysia, we only have one way to pay, which is the quick pay to merchant. Unlike in China, they have two.

You must be purchased from China website. If you using offline payment outside China you will prompt with this message.

OK, went to llaollao to buy again today. Still same, after my QR code is scanned, can see the amount with RM 5 discount before I key in 6 digits PIN.
