Even you have RMB in your WeChat pay you are not allowed to use it in Thailand. You will need to verify identity by using China ID in order to pay using WeChat RMB wallet in Thailand.

Bro,

I think you just need to verify your real name in China wallet. Before I was trying to get it to top up using my Malaysian credit card thus I went and verify everything that was displayed under wallet setting. Even sending a photo of my Malaysian IC. I don't get this message when I pop up quick pay for China wallet.

I didn't do anything to it because I cannot verify my identity yet I don't get this message. I already got my China wallet for years nevertheless.
These days, I heard if without China bank card and phone no., it cannot pass through. Not too sure though.

I heard it's actually harder to register a mobile number than to open a China bank account with passport. Is it still the case? They said you need a China friend to do it for you aka using it under his name.

I added my Malaysian credit card and verify my identity by sending over my ic copy. However it still wouldn't top up as it only works with certain banks debit card.

Since wechat now accept hlb debit card, feel like trying again to add and see if it will accept.

I used to have my own China Unicom no. which registered under my name and this was back in 2013. My friend forgot to help me to pay and it has gone forever a year later. bangwall.gif I registered in a proper telco centre (like our Digi, Celcom centre) in Beijing. Smaller cities? Forget about it, they won't entertain you at all.

These days I don't visit Beijing as much as I used to because I have no more work related with China, I only go to China for vacation and usually go to the smaller cities/provinces, they cannot help me to register and if I use my friend's details, it will be captured under her record (something like our CCRIS). So, I discarded the idea and use data roaming instead, thank God Digi gives me free data roaming of 5GB every bill cycle. laugh.gif

I don't think e- wallet is the way to go. It's fun but it does require internet access for it to work. For me, I think physical card is still the way to go. They just need wider recognition for things like Samsung Pay. Just hate the limit imposed by banks for paywave. They are half hearted at best and more like being forced to implement by bank negara.

Just use the mainstream ones, don't bother about the lesser known ones, unless you wanna give them a chance.

Even if you can add the card into China wallet, you can't reload at all. It's basically useless.

No, you can't. The discount will only be reflected if you pay with WeChat Pay.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

1. Wechat Pay (MY) can only be linked with local issued debit cards
2. Wechat Pay Malaysia Wallet and China Wallet operate separately, so they're both totally different wallets
3. This thread is about the MALAYSIA WALLET, not the CHINA WALLET. You're encouraged to stay on topic about the Malaysia Wallet only, please try not to derail the thread.

What does account limit of rm100 for quick pay means if i did not add a bank card?

LoL... They called me just now. Typical response saying their system malfunction at that time, hence it doesn't increase your counter. Your future purchases will be discounted and you'll still get up to 5 discounted transactions. Blah... sucks.

Once I finished my RM100 fund, I'm not going to use it anymore.

Sorry for my late reply Bro, as I was away on a long haul flight.

At least they were quick to respond back to you with an apologetic reply and assuarance. Not bad at all, if you ask me.

I dont think so... actually they did not reply at first. The next day I press the Reminder again then only they called. They could just credit me back instead of asking me to try again. Some more I purposely go and buy the milk even though I still got extra left.

I did another try yesterday and the discount was applied. So not sure what happened in the first transaction.
