Yeah, that's why I'm asking. I got set pin but bypass for low value. I showed my receipt for wechat also. Same price, no discount at all.

LoL... They called me just now. Typical response saying their system malfunction at that time, hence it doesn't increase your counter. Your future purchases will be discounted and you'll still get up to 5 discounted transactions. Blah... sucks.

I think you just need to verify your real name in China wallet. Before I was trying to get it to top up using my Malaysian credit card thus I went and verify everything that was displayed under wallet setting. Even sending a photo of my Malaysian IC. I don't get this message when I pop up quick pay for China wallet.

I heard it's actually harder to register a mobile number than to open a China bank account with passport. Is it still the case? They said you need a China friend to do it for you aka using it under his name.

I added my Malaysian credit card and verify my identity by sending over my ic copy. However it still wouldn't top up as it only works with certain banks debit card.

Since wechat now accept hlb debit card, feel like trying again to add and see if it will accept.

I don't think e- wallet is the way to go. It's fun but it does require internet access for it to work. For me, I think physical card is still the way to go. They just need wider recognition for things like Samsung Pay. Just hate the limit imposed by banks for paywave. They are half hearted at best and more like being forced to implement by bank negara.

I dont think so... actually they did not reply at first. The next day I press the Reminder again then only they called. They could just credit me back instead of asking me to try again. Some more I purposely go and buy the milk even though I still got extra left.

I did another try yesterday and the discount was applied. So not sure what happened in the first transaction.

If you havent set 6 digit pin, you will be in trial mode. Limited to 5 transactions per day. Daily limit cannot exceed RM100.


If you already set pin (and you set quickpay to not ask for your pin), whenever you are trying to transfer/pay below RM100, it wont ask for your pin. If you try to transfer/pay over RM100 or exceed 5 times per day, then they will ask for the 6 digit pin.

I only used it to purchase online game items in MY only, but I did open quick pay and didn't encounter your error message. Did you get the message when paying or whenever you launch quick pay?

You cannot add MY card to wechat pay if you set to China region. Goto change your region to MY and all will be done.

Nice... maybe can utilize a dormant bank account for this.

Nothing. Just using a dormant account as holding to deposit or withdraw from wechat instead of using main account. Security issue.
