From my experience, most of higher management, ie. Managers/Supervisors are quite well versed in operating the POS and willing to help complete the transaction process.

Hopefully with fingers crossed 🤞

Just need more merchants and retailers to adopt and use.
LOLz.....we had a brainstorming session some time ago, over at the Samsung Pay thread V1 and came to a conclusion, the best ways to go about making payments at merchants/retailers who are Pay Wave enabled but refuse to accept Samsung Pay. I suppose the efforts paid off eventually.
*
Samsung Pay has quite a large base of users, so I guess it's easier to make merchants notice that they're losing money if their staffs keep refusing to accept Samsung Pay, and I'm also intrigued by the the co-operation among users in the Samsung Pay community.

Similar way should be done when using e wallets. But too bad, the e wallet community is filled with cheapskates that keep abusing the system to get as much benefits as possible. When there's no benefit, these cheapskates will just ditch the whole service. If you've been to the Boost thread in Kopitiam, you will know it, bunch of cheapskates getting proud of themselves. And the fact that it's in Kopitiam, makes it even worse so serious users couldn't really have a serious discussion when others are fooling around.

Yes, you are absolutely right Bro. I visited the Boost thread and their cheapskate display of arrogance just sicken's me, and so I ran as though the Apocalypse is upon us and never looked back. Hopefully, the Wechat Pay users will be more civilized and have a better sense of the e-wallet.

Our thread is more civilized here cuz the thread is in a proper section, someone just gotta volunteer and open another discussion thread of Boost in this section so everything can be managed well.

Being a cheapskate is up to the person, can't be stopped. But when the thread is starting to get out of hand like the occasionally rude comments and some people sharing the promotions from other e wallets in that thread, action should be taken. But again, it's in Kopitiam, so nothing much can be done.

Just passed by a Hari Hari store in Pasar Seni, and I think I saw a sticker outside the store showing that they accept Wechat Pay.

If there's a Hari Hari store in your area, maybe can go check it out and probably buy some clothes.

No pics though, cuz I'm inside the bus.

Came back from China yesterday and I cannot imagine my life without e-wallets.

I exchanged RMB 500 cash and only spent RMB 85 cash because my phone had no 4G that time (I was in a high speed rail train). laugh.gif

I have both Alipay and WeChat Pay, both are equally convenient. My friend prefers Alipay because she can earn interest (only for verified Mainlanders). WeChat has its advantage too, for e.g. hawkers by roadside, most of them are normal end users, they prefer WeChat Pay.

My advice? Get both, no regret at all. Don’t bother about credit cards because they don’t accept ours except if you visit first tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai and etc.

My next trip challenge will be, I will only bring RMB 100 cash for whole trip. I haven’t encountered situation where e-wallet payments are not accepted. Even old grandma of 80 years old selling food by roadside accepts WeChat Pay.

Actually their connectivity has improved a lot, I recalled more blind spots during my last few trips. Now most of the time I was still able to get 4G in their HSR.

So yeah, the disadvantage of e-wallets? Internet connection. You will need Internet coverage to use it.

Yes, or link with CC (can use for Taobao only), cannot use it to pay via QR code.
For us only account with linked balance can use to scan QR code, applies for WeChat Pay too. Strangely I cannot scan Alipay in Malaysia even with credit left, luckily I can use in China.

Because your Alipay is China version instead Global version?
My Alipay also old account, payment with CC is working ok for me these few years, so really no bother much about ID verification.

Mine also can link with CC but cannot use it to pay in China, I can only use it to pay Taobao with 3% charge. If wanna scan QR code, need to have credit balance. Got my account 5 years ago.
It must be verified China Mainland account to use in Malaysia.

Sorry OT. I think we should stop discussion about Alipay here or someone can create new topic about Alipay. laugh.gif
