Sea Sonic Adds Wooting Analog Keyboards to Its Product Lineup

Sea Sonic has signed an exclusive sales and distribution deal with Wooting, the company behind the most advanced analogue mechanical keyboard for the PC gaming market. The partnership between Sea Sonic and Wooting is the perfect fit as both companies believe in core values of innovation, performance and quality. The partnership will allow Wooting to have more visibility in international retail channels and access to Sea Sonic's dedicated marketing department. "We believe that by working with Wooting, the forerunner and the best company behind analogue input technology, Sea Sonic not only supports and invests in technology advancement, but also helps innovation reach a wider audience." - Vincent Chang, CEO of Sea Sonic Electronics Co., Ltd.

The Wooting one keyboard is the world's first analog keyboard. It uses Flaretech Prism optical mechanical key switches to allow gamers similar usability as a controller joystick, by recognizing how far each key is pressed down. The user gets full control over in-game movement; whether it is a slight change of direction in driving games or a gradual adjustment of movement speed in shooter games. The keyboard switches are hot-swappable and the actuation point is fully adjustable within the analog range of 1.5 mm-3.6 mm, unlike the fixed distance of 2 mm found on regular mechanical keyboards.

QUOTE

"We feel excited to work together with Sea Sonic. Their global presence, experience and network will strengthen our weak areas as a small company. This allows us to place more focus on the future adaptations of analogue input technology, product experience and our awesome customers." - Calder Limmen, Co-founder and CEO of Wooting

the better silent switch types are cherry mx silent red/black. however for budget below 300myr, you can get cherry mx red/brown, or equivalent.

edit:

you can scout garage sales section at lyp, and mymkb's mechmarket, https://www.facebook.com/groups/MYMECHMARKET/ for options.

usually a common way to lube tactile switches is to avoid lubing the two protrusions on the stems that are in contact with gold leaf. by lubing those, you have a much reduced tactile bump. (which is defeating the purpose of getting a board with tactile switches)

this is not the case of kailh pro copper. (this is one of the kailh pro heavy switches; the lighter version is kailh pro purple) it's pre-lubed, including its spring and the two protrusions on the stem. in fact, the two protrusions are heavily lubed with thin lube (the feel of lube is similar to krytox gpl 103/104 imo). despite of the lubrication, its tactility remains relatively pronounced.

imo kailh pro is not a bad option. they're pre-lubed, and their stems have relatively less wobbles, compared to gateron switches.

Just a regular lurker passing by, what's the matter with lubing stabilizers? I mean I like to collect keyboards but in terms of delving into the little details like that, that I'm pretty much vanilla. I haven't done any sort of modding or configuration to any of my collections. And btw, what good options do you guys recommend for a split spacebar keyboard?

most oem boards have rather bad stabilizer implementations, causing all sorts of nuisances. (with only few exceptions, like filco/leopold/varmilo) stabilizer mods make them relatively better to type on, .e.g making it smoother, getting rid of wire rattles, reducing noise, etc. (usually mods are performed to cherry style stabilizers only. costar stabs just need proper lubing in general)

for a split space bar board, you can build one with a dz60 pcb (60%; based on qmk firmware). everything is up to you to configure. however this type of key layouts requires a good deal of adaptation.

Hello all.

I am owning a Blackwidow Chroma Tournamet Edition with Green Switches. I am finding for a mechanical keyboard for office use whereby I would like it to be not loud but still provide me the springy feeling that I am getting from my current Blackwidow keyboard. Not sure if the springy feeling is from the tactility of the green switches or otherwise.

I have purchased a Phantom TKL (Brown switch) which I did not like it as it was too high, hurting my wrists and the buttons were a little too hard to press. I have also gotten the Coolermaster CK5550 (Gateron Brown switch) which I found it to be very soft and lack that bouncy feeling which I'm getting from my Razer green switches.

I recently tried the Razer Orange Switches which I felt were pretty good but at present, I am not keen to spend so much money as Razer keyboard is pretty expensive.

Any recommendations would be great:-
1) Ideally RM400 and below
2) Provides the bouncy feeling of Razer Green Switches but manageable noise
3) No need to have RGB
4) TKL (75%) would be a plus point

Thanks!

1. there is many good-ish kibod out there with RM400 price range. with some little mods, it can be better.
2. u need to try a lot of switch and decide what switch u want. greens is commonly tactile and clicky. maybe u should try something tactile and clicky such as blues or greens from other switches. but yes, they will be loud for an office environment but heck, i use blues at office. but my work environment doesnt need me to type long essays or emails.
3. good. widens your choice of kibod available.
4. with 400++. i suggest you build a custom kibod.

my 2sen.
