Hey guys, which is the best way of getting a HHKB Pro 2 (japanese layout), considering the prices and warranty services afterward.

notes on stabilizer mods - o-ring and silicone pads:
these mods were published by walkerstop at keebtalk.com. the main purpose of these mods are to reduce noise of up and down strokes of large keys (modifiers, space bar). - source: https://www.keebtalk.com/t/silencing-upstroke-of-stabs/2700 - actual video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzF4hVoOCHg usually, stabilizer lubing and band-aid mod are used on cherry style stabilizers to minimize noise produced (i.e. up and down strokes of keys; wire rattles). however these mods do have side effects: - conventionally, dielectric grease is used to enhance sound dampening of band-aids; with silicone pads, you don't need to use grease anymore; - band-aid mod has some apparent issues: after a while, gum on band-aids might make stabs literally sticky and sluggish; it also introduces mushiness to large keys; - some people just don't like to apply too many grease on stabilizers. the walker's way: - o-ring mod: the main purpose is to silence upstrokes of large keys. the o-ring is measured at 4mm outer diameter (OD), 1mm thick. it also helps reduce wire rattles. - silicone pads: the pads are used to replace band-aid mod (to reduce noise generated by down strokes of large keys). the pads are 0.5mm thick. do not use anything thicker than 0.5mm because some how it might affect the travel distance of the keys. - full clipping mod: in the video, note that all legs of the stabilizer inserts are cut off. this must be done because the presence of legs might also affect key travel distance, after the addition of o-rings. outcomes: - with both mods applied, you will have large keys that are relatively quieter than the rest of the keys. the typing feel changes to something like cherry mx silent red, i.e. cushioned up and down strokes. - if the keys are too mushy for you, you might wanna skip the silicone pads. imo, these mods are good if you intended to make silent builds. however it's better to experiment with them first. edit: the o-ring and full clipping mods are good to fix most chinese-made plate-mount stabilizers. unless wire rattles are obvious, there's no need to use these on cherry style pcb-mount stabs (tested on kbdfans' pcb-mount screw-in stabs) This post has been edited by horns: Oct 14 2018, 04:45 AM |

-portable -wireless -rechargable battery(no AA or AAA battery needed) -mechanical(optional because my hand used to mechanical feel d and hard to satisfy with non mechanical feel. I just planning to use it at home or probably bring to office sometime to type when using phone. right now the closest in my survey is the elysium Dot keyboard: Elysium Dot Lazada Wondering if anyone know anything comparable to this elysium Dot? |

QUOTE(irsyadfy @ Oct 15 2018, 09:39 AM) Thanks for the recommendation! Anne Pro looks like a good competition with elysium with my requirement. Filco's convertible too big and mimila air keyboard kind looks too uncomforatable at first look and it needs AA battery. looks good though... But like you said, hard to source. Anne Pro is sold in lazada but no warranty at all... and no change of mind applicable. |

Hi all. I'm looking for a TKL keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switches and backlit (doesn't have to be RGB). I have done my research and I think the Ducky One TKL is the best one for me. The Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S had my attention at first but I read around that the macro features aren't up to par to the Ducky's.
Anyway, I've been asking around all the tech shops and no seems to be selling this keyboard. They said that they are looking for a new Ducky distributor. Is buying online from an international store my way to go here? If so, what would be the best sites? P.S. If you could recommend me a good TKL keyboard that I can get locally that would be nice too. I'm also open to 75% keyboard like the Vortex Race 3. |
