Btw, for those who don't know, last time only banks can access to CCRIS but now you can check your own CCRIS report. All loans, cards etc... that are taken from a bank will be reflected in CCRIS including any missed payments. You can also see the status of your application, whether credit card approved by the bank or rejected without the bank first calling and informing you.

In any case, Banks don't only use 1 point of data and they will also use CTOS to evaluate your credit. I have 2x cards with UOB, 2x HLB, 1x with AM (applying for 1x VI to complete my lounge access) but got rejected by Alliance and MBB (former Amex 2 card reserve holder and wanted to apply for VI). In any case, I will be cutting some cards and rearranging them for better benefits.

I suspect rejection by Alliance and MBB was due to miss payments on a loan. That aside, I suspect my credit score rating is deteriorating because the amount of applications and credit I am using (spend up to 50-60% of my limit but repay on time and full).

Based on what you have flaunt above, not just bank but I also think you are a high financially risk person

Absolutely, there is no denying what you say.

Ironically, since the day I had my first credit card more than 15 yrs+ ago, I only held the MBB 2 Card Platinum and subsequently the MBB 2 Reserve. Until they raise the points and I cut it up last year?

With point inflation across the board, fewer banks willing to waive SST and Annual Fee, it's fortunate (or unfortunate - if my plan go side ways. bangwall.gif ) that there are ways to get around this problem.

OT: I always suggest people not to cancel MBB cards because it is not easy to get back once you completely cut tie with them. Just retain an AF free card will be better to add any new cards in the future. smile.gif

This i would say I regret doing it because I could have easily met the spending requirement for annual fee and SST waiver.

It was just impulse. I went back to re-apply for MBB VI but they rejected my application.

No issue to reapply after cancelled. I already cancelled few times and reapply after 1 years. If no use, better cancel.

If you ask me, not really. My credit score is kind of patchy.

UOB is my third and fourth credit card (applied simultaneously, for PME and world).

UOB gave higher credit limit compared to MBB (when i had my MBB 2 Reserve). I requested for it to be lowered permanently 😅. 5months+ later, i asked for increase back to original limit they gave me, took about 2 weeks. Very fast.

My suggestion is, just put in the application, dont worry whether it will get approve or reject or credit score, if you need that credit line and have a purpose for it and intend to pay on time every time. Go ahead.

Rm 25 cashback per day subject to a pool of rm 6k, first come first serve. Kind of risky, might lose rm 5 (1% conman fee) for every rm 500 top up. 🤣
