Actually I thought there is micro usb in the picture but not if you look at it carefully. It is "microsd" card slot NOT micro USB port.

Looks like a completely different product since it’s in dongle form. If that really is though, might as well go for pro

If it’s supposed to compete with fire tv 4k (price wise) then fail already.

Well it is not a dongle either because there is a HDMI port which means that the device can be placed elsewhere. Furthermore, it has Ethernet port..
This model is better option for traveller but if the estimated price is correct then 'good luck' to Nvidia..

Honestly, I'm disappointed with the new Shield TV coz it's not a future proof device..
No HDMI 2.1, only 16GB storage and no usb 3.1..

If the new features especially AI upscaling & Netflix Atmos is exclusive for the new STV then it will be a very sad news for current users especially those who bought the shield few months back.
Even though there is a way to watch Netflix Atmos on current STV via Kodi, it's not future proof.

I'm fairly disappointed too. Seems as if the folks at Nvidia have let things get to their heads. Believing that they can get away with just a minor bump. Guess the wait will have to continue. Sigh.

This guy yet to try DV...and looks like it doesn’t support dts-x, I don’t see any option to enable/disable that...only have dts-hd...

DV & Atmos for Netflix have been tested working, this can confirm that DV single layer is working but for DV dual layer yet to be confirm due to no android app supports DV playback currently.
DTSX passthrough is available..

p/s: u can try direct play DV remux to ur LG Oled TV via plex/xplay..

If you expect the new unit will have sales, you must pray very hard.

As per my previous reply, there is no android app that curently support Dolby Vision dual-layer which is required to play DV remuxs from HDD but since u already owned LG Oled TV which support DV dual-layer, u just need to direct play the DV remuxs to ur LG TV via Plex/Xplay.
It is not necessary to have new Shield TV to play DV remuxs on TV that support DV dual-layer.
The only downside is that it is only possible with lossly audio or lossless audio which need to be convert to PCM first.

Most probably there will be Black Friday/Cyber Monday promo starting on 28/11/2019 - 02/12/2019.

all my files are in BDMV format (folder), i dont have remux format file...i dont think Plex/xplay can play BDMV

For most HD video content on top apps like Netflix and Prime Video, users can expect to see crisper, clearer, video than what is achieved with basic upscaling.

HOW CAN I SEE WHAT AI UPSCALING CAN DO ON SHIELD?
Under the “AI-Upscaling” menu you will find a “Demo Mode” switch. When enabled, you will be able to compare your current “AI-Upscaling” setting to “Basic” upscaling image quality. “Basic” upscaling is a common upscaling method used by previous SHIELD TV devices and many popular streaming devices available today.

- Press the “Settings” button on your SHIELD remote to toggle between Basic and AI-Upscaling

- Hold “Settings” button to compare “Basic” and “AI-Upscaling” side by side

WHAT CONTENT CAN I UPSCALE USING AI?
The AI-Upscaler will work on content that is:
> Resolution: Greater than 480p but less than 4K
> Refresh rate: 30Hz refresh rate or less
> Color space: YUV color space
> Video content (Non-gaming content)

As reference, most non-4K content on Netflix and Prime Video work with AI-upscaling.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AI-UPSCALING IS NOT-AVAILABLE
In most cases, SHIELD will fall back to Enhanced upscaling. This is an enhanced quality version of the upscaler compared to the previous generation upscaling.
