QUOTE(prokiller1199 @ Jul 20 2020, 08:59 PM) Ermm, i don't think so. Flashing CFE can be easy but people are not kind to share their AC18 Cfe with working AiMesh. This has been done after 30+ hours of testing and unbricking process. Link removed,This tutorial only for 380.70 usage only. Do not follow from stock firmware. Tutorial Please kindly input ur lowyat username (eg. prokiller1199) before requesting. Perks: Stronger Wi-Fi signal (25 dBm) AiMesh 2.0 Have Fun! It is advised to set the Wi-Fi channel fixed after updating, Added new CFE and instructions |

Hi All,
I'm using Firmware:380.70_HGG-FINAL on tenda AC18, it has been stable. But I only have 1 issue, the wifi 'enable wireless scheduler' doesn't kick-in automatically even after setting the schedule. I've to manually goto wifi, professional and click apply. Then it will react based on the time and apply off/on wifi. Anyone of you have any workaround to this issue? |

QUOTE(pisces1529 @ Oct 1 2021, 07:44 PM) Hey man, appreciate for the CFE and step by step flashing guide! Compare to 380.70 Final, tge never 386 offer better wifi performnce? Flashed my 2 year old AC18, from version 380 to 386 So far so good! I know previous 384 is less stable than 380.70. Definitely never firmware has better security or at least more upto date, thus I thinking to update for security reason. Thanks 🙏 |

QUOTE(muncheno @ Oct 2 2021, 08:20 AM) @prokiller1199 I feel the same on 1st floor, but 2nd floor wifi is more stable on both 2.4 and 5ghz wifi compare to 380. I didn't test much on 384, I flash to 384 then straight to 386. Can provide link to tutorial? Thanks getting AC18 alive, appreciate for your contributions on continuing provide updates. It might improve the wifi performance. Now my devices won't flip on 2nd floor, stable on 5GHz wifi. So far so good. No complaint from family members or guest. @prokiller1199 and @pisces1529
Thanks I have successfully upgraded the CFE and firmware On the tutorial, no. 10. The command cat tmp/home/root/1.bin > /dev/mtd0 , I change it to cat /tmp/home/root/1.bin > dev/mtd0 as the user already in the folder, thus without modification doesn’t work. Nothing wrong with the tutorial, but for newbie may stuck there. Just wanted to provide a quick feedback here. Before upgrade, I was getting around 500/44x mbps on DL/UL. iPad speedtest on 380.70 However after update, my maximum Wi-Fi speed dropped significantly. Maybe it is my tweaking not suitable for 386, but on default Wi-Fi settings also worst. No a big deal, I think still acceptable with around 407/379 mbps for DL/UL. iPad on 386_2 Will continue testing, hopefully no big issue. Additionally, just for sharing that I also overclocked my router by change in CFE the cpuclkfreq = 800,667 to 1000,800 This is was the clock speed I was using in previous firmware version. 380.70 final got option to overclock in the GUI. With 386, no option and I tried using putty and using nvram set cpuclkfreq = 1000,800 && nvram commit && nvram reboot. Somehow it doesn’t work anymore like 380.70. If anyone have the correct method apart from CFE, I would like to know. Thanks This post has been edited by muncheno: Oct 10 2021, 02:21 PM |
