The router comes with a firmware which has specific profiles for Malaysian ISPs. However, if you flash it to the latest available from the Tenda website, you will not have these profiles and hence won't be able to connect.
The solution is to flash Asus Merlin 68U firmware. http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/108975435-post47.html This post has been edited by dineshmike: Jan 19 2018, 04:58 PM |

QUOTE(faikioscarm @ Jan 17 2018, 08:34 PM) no bricked,i think is my update firmware cannot use Call Tenda support / PM them on Facebook. Get them to email you the Malaysia version of the firmware.maxis fibre, before update original interface routeer setting 1st startup setting got unifi/maxis choose...after update...dont have already.... Flash it & you are back in business. The Merlin firmware is not official (even Merlin himself don't endorse it) & the flashing procedures involved a few more steps than your 'standard' flashing. If you don't know what you are doing...don't. |

Thanks for the suggestion wind01. I've gotten the firmware from Tenda MY support. It's the same version that comes with the router.

Thought of getting this router for the coming unifi speed upgrade. To current owners what do you think? Is it good?

This is the performance of the AC15. I guess safe to say that the AC18 will be better.https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wi...howall=&start=2 WAN to LAN 760Mbps |

I think I'll skip this router. Last firmware update was January 2017, when I asked tech support, they are clueless haha without these overhead costs it's no wonder they can price it cheap.https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wi...howall=&start=2 WAN to LAN 760Mbps |

If you like constant firmware updates, get a Mikrotik. They release RC firmwares like every other week and stable firmwares about once a month.Stable » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Release Candidate (RC) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Hi bro, we discussed once about Mikrotik. I think it is time for me to explore this option now, even though I have a good router. Which would be a mid-range, not too expensive model, that I can explore? Looking for something with wireless, and have AC capabilities, with updated firmware? Thank you.Stable » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Release Candidate (RC) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |
