Thanks for the suggestion wind01. I've gotten the firmware from Tenda MY support. It's the same version that comes with the router.

Edit (09/06/2019): Link above is dead. Updated link:

And of course, flash it at your own risk.

U may Whatsapp Tenda@support at +60 12-621 7668 for the latest Unifi compatible firmware.

I had a similar problem when I updated Tenda C18. Very prompt support service from Tenda Malaysia

Ermm, i don't think so. Flashing CFE can be easy but people are not kind to share their AC18 Cfe with working AiMesh. This has been done after 30+ hours of testing and unbricking process. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

This tutorial only for 380.70 usage only. Do not follow from stock firmware.

Tutorial Please kindly input ur lowyat username (eg. prokiller1199) before requesting.

Perks:
CPU overclocked to 1000mhz
Stronger Wi-Fi signal (25 dBm)
AiMesh 2.0

Have Fun!
It is advised to set the Wi-Fi channel fixed after updating,

Contents updated with newer CFE file, newer flashing instructions and new firmware as today.

Thank you for that

I have the older CFE and I had to downlock back to 800mhz due to instabilities with AImesh

I downgraded my AC68U and my AC18 to 384.13 and downclocked the AC18 to 800mhz and it's been up 24 hours without dropping. Before it would drop out randomly every 30 minutes

my ac18 is very stable even with 1000mhz with like a month more without dropping but I restart manually.

I have no doubts yours may be stable. But there is always variations in silicon quality. Downclocking it will lengthen its lifespan, too. I just figured I should report back with my experience

I don't need 1000mhz since I use it as an aimesh node anyways
