So far so good.

Almost same as default speed. I'm getting 330 / 338 Mbps DL/UL. Thanks for sharing. 🙏 Perhaps you could also try my settings. I managed to optimize back to my previous level 500/401 Mbps DL/UL. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The router comes with a firmware which has specific profiles for Malaysian ISPs. However, if you flash it to the latest available from the Tenda website, you will not have these profiles and hence won't be able to connect.

Wow... this router is still going strong.
Just saw a video that guide how to change upgrade to AIMESH but damn hard to find the files. Anyone got the files to share? I got 3 units here still running on stock. Did consider upgrading router but recent routers really sucks with only 2x2 on 2.4GHz which I need for wifi switches and tplink cameras in my home.

My router with old Merlin got attack by the Russian botnet. I tried searching on how to edit CFE and update to the latest Merlin but I got nowhere. 4PDA links seem to be down.
So I decided to try Freshtomato firmware instead. Seems really good so far, just need to set your own VLAN for Unifi. I like the minimal interface. So this is a good alternative to Merlin if you just want something other than stock firmware.

I tried freshtomato before, noticing worse wifi performance and range that's why I stayed with Merlin that time. the most important is the AiMesh features don't want too many SSID around with auto roaming feature. However, I didn't use Tenda ac18 for years already. switched to AC86U back then.

I've read that they've fixed the Wi-Fi signal issue recently but I don't really have any point of comparison from before. But it works fine for my family. Same here, my AC18 is actually in my parents' house. Using AC86U as my main right now. But seriously, this AC18 is still very capable after all these years. The newer AC23 is not big of an upgrade vs AC18. It even has less RAM and ROM vs the AC18.

Are you just testing it? Merlin WRT has more premium features and AC18 also has better chipset then AC23. I have an Xiaomi AX3600 and yet I preferred to use my AC18 as main router.

Just for the update to the AC18 users who are using 386 branch. I just updated to 386.5 on yesterday night, so far no issue found. Just for security reason, I usually updating firmware at least once a year if available incase you wanted to know. The firmware can be found here, it actually sharing the same firmware with it brother AC68u. Thus is only working with AC18 router that already updated to CFE boot version 1.0.2.0 & above (I'm using v1.3.0.7). https://fw.koolcenter.com/KoolCenter_Merlin...n_386/RT-AC68U/
