Just came back from northpoint. They insisted me to leave the phone for 7 days cause its still under warranty. Rm121 battery replacement does not apply. Sigh. Need to wait until mid december to send again sad.gif

They are giving you a new refurbished iphone if you send in for replacement.

Will the water resistance remain after the replacement?

Yes. That’s the plan. Made all 3 appointments.
Don’t think I will change new phone next year so better get the battery replaced for my family

Maybe it's specific to 6s plus? I dunno. It just seems suspect they would do that.

Update on Nortpoint visit.

They diagnosed the wife's phone. Didn't even need to take it to back of house for "diagnostics". Which makes it very, very suspicious on why they'd need to do that at the curve branch.

The (very friendly) technician then asked if I'd sent the phone for an external battery change. Very, very suspicious now. He said the status is listed as unknown. I told him I sent it in for a diagnostic at the curve branch and he didn't push further.

Proceeded to make all the necessary paperwork and made the payment with no hassle.

Once I get my wife's phone back I will be writing to Apple to inform them of their "premium" reseller.

Unacceptable behaviour.

So you left the phone there? Any timeline on when you will get it back? Hmm... I wonder if they will call you after a day or two and say the battery is bloated and ask you to pay 399 for a refurbished phone hmm.gif

Hoping that won’t happen. They said it should be ready for collection today or tomorrow. Will most likely go on Saturday instead since they only open till 6pm.

Will update to let others know of the development. For now, I’d say avoid the curve outlet if possible.

I changed the battery despite mine being at 88% anyway, figured it is best to take the deal as I don’t plan to get a new phone anytime soon

Update as promised. I received an email from machines saying that the device is ready for collection.

Will update again once I’ve picked it up.

So it seems that the Curve’s outlet is purposely misleading people to think they’re phone cannot be serviced.

Will be sending an email to Apple once I’ve collected and verified that the phone is in good working order.

Doesn’t seem to be a company issue. Most likely the branch manager? Probably get an increase in “sales”. Looking forward to hear their response.

Replacement models under warranty does not take 3 days.

The over counter service people at North Point will always say 7 days, maybe their policy ?

Maximum 2 days or 48hours you will get it back.

Wise choice! That’s is what I did too. Better to take advantage of the offer as I was told that the original price is 3x more.
