Ok first of all, i think i better explain what it does. If you are currently using password-protected user, u will find this very interesting. If you are not, it might change ur mind. It will load-up everything BEFORE u even key-in the password. So after u enter the password, u are ready to-go without have to wait like you did before.

Here how it works in pictures:

loading like normal during startup..

Attached Image

and then, in all of sudden, this log-on password appears ! poof !!

Attached Image

For the tutorial steps, it seems pretty long and hard, but trust me it isnt that hard. I wish i can do it on video which is a lot easier and clear. But i know vid take forever to load, so i think this will be just fine.

FOLLOW the instruction from the beginning. IF u skip any of these, there's chance that it wont work out for you.

STEP 1:

Here is what u need: U must have Tweak UI.

Here is how u start: Download that Tweak UI. Install it on your pc.

Double-click on the downloaded file. Unzip it first. then Run Winzip.

Attached Image

Right-click and select Install

Attached Image

Now u will have it on your control panel.

Double-click on the Tweak UI Icon.

Attached Image

Go to Logon tab. Fill that out and dont forget your password!

Attached Image

make sure u key-in THE SAME EXACT username and password u have on the user accounts

STEP 2:

For Step 2, we will start with Start button, then => Run

Attached Image

Type in "regedit" in Run

Attached Image

______________________________________________________________________

Once its open, just click every file that I pointed out below. This is the sequence. Make sure you got it right

HKEY_CURRENT_USER => Software => Microsoft => Windows => Current Version => Run

Attached Image

Attached Image

This is where you check if you are in the right direction or not

Attached Image

It is more helpful if u see the pictures from this point:

1) Right click on the right side of the panel. then New => click String Value

Attached Image

2) Name it "Lock"

Attached Image

3) Right click on "Lock", then select "Modify"

Attached Image

4) Type in rundll32.exe user32.dll LockWorkStation <------ copy paste this is easier bcoz u might confuse the dll consist of what

Attached Image

Make sure u get all the steps right again.
The sequence is : TweakUI => User Accounts with exact name and password in TweakUI => the "regedit" / registry editor ended with "rundll32.exe user32.dll LockWorkStation"

Now restart your system to see the effect. Good luck and enjoy your tweak !

p/s: dont ask if that was me in the logon picture. That is definitely not me. He is Solid Snake in the becoming Metal Gear Solid 4.

Better use the Windows wifi thingy... ProSet does some funky things sometimes, dunno why... There's no choice in Vista though, no ProSet... icon_rolleyes.gif

Will paste Frontpage... Essential for XP in my opinion, if you value speed/performance over eye-candy... icon_rolleyes.gif
Well, for me Vista is smoother in all it's DWM'y hardware accelerated desktop goodness... But is it more stable then XP? Well, in comparison, my old XP machine DOES lock up and forces me to HARD RESET more then this current Vista machine... And I notice that Vista's a bit better in managing memory and recovering from Explorer.exe crashes (maybe it's the 2GB RAM?)...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Drivers? Vista Nvidia drivers are quite crap right now for the 7400... Do you play a lot of games? If you do, you'll notice a slight performance drop due to this... But everything else seems okay enough... thumbup.gif

Basically if you don't really care about gaming performance and want the bling-bling of the DWM desktop, get Vista. If you care more about extracting the last ounce of performance out of the 7400go, stick with XP...  rolleyes.gif
*
Thx. Actually i just use to play Need for Speed Most Wanted. The previous game i play many years ago is final fantasy 7 sweat.gif

I love the bling-bling of the DWM desktop...that's way thinking to upgrade to Vista. How about the time take to start up the window Vista? also running some software that consumes a lot of memory...faster than XP?

So far i just HARD RESET my system once....

I dont have much time rite now, but ill say if u prefer game performance over eye-candy, wait for awhile because u gonna have some performance loss on Vista. I'll get to u more. dang, im late.

Add around rm500-1000 to the current price... And that's the lowest specs... Expect a 1000-2000 increase for fullspecs... I think... icon_rolleyes.gif

But if they offer this at RM4200 (give or take a few hundred), I'm gonna get pretty pissed at myself cause I didn't wait long enough... cry.gif
