Just checked out Hitman Pro... Sorry, but can't say I'm impressed by what I'm reading...

http://www.surfing-safe.com/spyware/hitmanpro.php

Read this up... icon_rolleyes.gif

It does simplify the installation process of all the Adware/Malware/Spyware whatever scanner, but the program does come with its own set of problems... Personally, I'd say download everything manually, one by one... icon_rolleyes.gif

But, not all people have that kind of time... Right? Use it AFTER you've read the article... thumbup.gif

Currently compiling the links to all recommended software for Frontpage... icon_rolleyes.gif

I do have CrapCleaner or called CCleaner and do use MSCONFIG to faster the startup and to clear those useless system tray softwares.

I think I do have a vid tutorial for regedit (registry editor), which for those with a password on their log-in, can have their XP start-up like normal, but need the initial password to use it. In other words, when u On ur PC or restart, it will load all the start-up even BEFORE u put in the password, which the normal one usually works AFTER u key-in the password. There is nothing better if u rushing to wake up for school and press the ON button on ur laptop, then immediately run into the shower while brushing ur teeth, and come back to ur laptop, key-in ur password and it's ready to go.

and oh, good-job Eiraku. U r one of the best forumer u know. Keep it up. And anybody here good in CS 1.6?
*
Hmm, that would be interesting! I'm using Vista sadly... icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence... I'm just trying here, hoping I'm doing a good enough job helping people... icon_rolleyes.gif

CS? I'm ok-ok at that... Prefer CS:Source though (which I can console edit for slow-mo against bots, really cool)... Playing Republic Commando right now, and I can say it's one of the best FPS I've ever played... Runs swell on the M1210 too!

I have both but nothing is better than CS 1.6. It is just more precise and more fun in terms of the map and everything. CS:S has cooler graphic and physics, but that doesnt mean it will have a better gameplay. Both get great metapoints @ Steam.. so i wouldnt complain either one. But i definitely prefer CS 1.6 tho. so again anyone here good at it ?

and i found out about Hitman Pro not by myself. I found it at Maximum PC magazine. If it does some sort of scam or corrupted software, I think i already see myself being rich by sueing the mag for false-advertising; punitive-damage and compensation damage for 1 million dollars. haha.

I use it myself and it has nothing wrong with it so far. My friend was invaded by some spywares and I suggested him Hitman Pro, he said Hitman Pro rocks, it cleans the crap out of his laptop. Again, preference. And thanks to Eiraku too, if not i will be held responsible by some of forumers here.

Nah... It works for some, doesn't for others... Like you said, preference, and luck... icon_rolleyes.gif

R u saying.. u already have got a replacement unit and now u r thinking to refund that ?

Hello derred, yes, I do believe I'm saying my replacement unit has a slight wobble. AGAIN.

And welcome, the first female member (or at least the first one who has admitted her gender) of the LYN XPS M1210 group... icon_rolleyes.gif

2 Lemons in a row? Supposedly impossible, but here is it happening in front of me... Need to update the Frontpage FAQ about that... Oh Dell, you never cease to amaze, and all in the wrong ways... shakehead.gif

The thermal issue aside (but 70+ is BADDDD), you really need to urge Dell (scream at them!) to get you a  replacement as electric leaks ARE definitely a problem... Give them hell and call for their manager, that usually works... thumbup.gif

Dell must think they can dupe girls or something... by giving them lemons and thinking they will accept them. *ahem*...*waves*

My web camera gives electric leaks I believe... when you touch it, you get a nice fuzzy furry feeling... definitely electricity yes? Had it before on my compaq so I think I know how it feels.

Get a full refund, you think?

Hmm Eiraku that will be an interesting project for the XP start-up even BEFORE we key-in our windows password.. I can do it by request (as not much ppl are using Windows log-in user password) and must be before Monday starts.. which means i only have time before tomorrow.. If not im sorry to say u have to wait for another weekends or the next next week if i have some busy stuff for the next week then.. if i have something for the n...

@pigduck

I dont know but u might get full refund.. good luck finding the perfect laptop for u.. If i were you, ill look back and rethink.. what is it that I actually want from it? ultra-portability while on the go? Powerful enuf for its kind when it is not on the go? If I were u, adjust the slight wobble, if it's not perfect enuf, then get a external keyboard for home use. Like what im currently on, a fine 16 bucks bluetooth keyboard. In fact, why do we all have bluetooth and never use it? then get ur bluetooth on and use it. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

Hmm... initially I thought I was having problems with the adapter. Dell technician came over and gave me a new adapter and changed a few parts in the laptop but that didn't solve the problem. Anyhow, my dad was testing my laptop last night running on battery alone and yet he still get the mild electric shock.

Agree with pigduck the webcam is one of the culprit areas. Other parts include absolute left side, middle (the part to plug in mic and earphones) and absolute right side of the front area. Other parts are ok.

I ordered mine without the webcam so I can't confirm that happening, besides the fact that my M1210 isn't leaking electricity at all (at least not that I can feel)... icon_rolleyes.gif

But leaking electricity when running on battery? Now that's bad... sweat.gif

Try not to get it fixed... I've got a feeling that it's just gonna leak electricity summore... Get it replaced if possible... thumbup.gif

EDIT: I hope it's not just static electricity...

perhaps you need downstepper voltage (if it's available..)
i wonder why you have leaks electricity for your notebook, in fact you are using it's offcial power adapter which is for South East Asia voltage current.

edit: typo.
