Ehm.. hehe yea, I'm a female user.

That's why I don't really know much about computing stuffs. As for gaming, I only know about DoTA and Warcraft 'cos I'm surrounded by guy friends who play a lot of those.
If possible, I'd still like to carry this lappie to the States because of its light weight. I would need to carry it around to classes quite often (I presume). Plus, I have 3 years Complete Cover warranty which Dell mentioned will cover my lappie in US (not sure whether this is really true...). I checked out MacBook and the rest before but the specs pale in comparison to XPS M1210 and the prices are much more exorbitant for the specs that I'd get for my XPS M1210.
Anyway, currently to solve my overheating problem, I have a fan blowing at it. Can get 55+ degree celcius. At least it's still better than 75+.

Well, knowing that the M1210 has better specs/price ration than a MacBook automatically makes you a bit more then a mere noob, congrats...

And welcome, the first female member (or at least the first one who has admitted her gender) of the LYN XPS M1210 group...

2 Lemons in a row? Supposedly impossible, but here is it happening in front of me... Need to update the Frontpage FAQ about that... Oh Dell, you never cease to amaze, and all in the wrong ways...
The thermal issue aside (but 70+ is BADDDD), you really need to urge Dell (scream at them!) to get you a replacement as electric leaks ARE definitely a problem... Give them hell and call for their manager, that usually works...
About the CompleteCover covering US, I think you have to purchase a International Extension something or another, cause if I'm not mistaken, CC is completely local... I'll check it out and get back to you later...
As for security, if you want an upgrade from normal, free anti-virus software, get NOD32... It's lean, fast and has great virus detection rates... They're selling em cheap to students at RM74 (normal price, RM120)... Tell me if you're interested, I'll hook you up with the ESET people...
Or you can get it through the "normal" (read: somewhat illegal) channels... Which I am personally against, as I just can't live with the idea of using cracked security software (I mean, what good is the AV program if it's already cracked? It's like using a car with a leaking fuel tank)...

Ah, the great AC5... I'm idling at 47 CPU, 50 GPU and 50 Memory (all celcius), I wonder if a large serving of AC5 will lower it even more (wistful thinking)...
And yeah, MapleStory is nice, but it used to be cheat prone... Are the cheaters still ruling the servers?

Hmm i think it is somewhere hidden in the early pages. Eiraku, i think it is a good idea to add some must-have softwares at the frontpage of this thread.

Hitman Pro 2.6: Hitman Pro, a superb spyware-remover. It installs like top 10 spyware-remover over the net, and run test one-by-one, with only one-click. yes, one-click. the only downside is pretty obvious, 10 spyware-remover = 10 scans. It eats some of your precious time so be careful. Do it overnight or during a very long idle. Yes, u dont have to do it everyday or even week. Do it once in awhile.
Avast! anti-virus: It's free. and it's doing its job too. I used Norton before. Ask me too many questions, interrupting my learning and gaming sessions. This one works like a sniper, it's invincible to us, but we all know it's there waiting to blow helmet off the viruses' head even before it steps in.
PC-Clean
: This one is super-fast. Good to remove any normal-easy spyware. Good to have if u dont have much precious time to waste on full-boring scans. It goods for occasional events.
Other than that are already out there post by millions of tech head. I ain't no tech head, im just an enthusiast. and oh, Hitman Pro is just one software, so u dont need alot of spyware-remover, u just need that one. And just do the long boring scan if u get infected by spyware (if u notice major slowdown or adware; internet advertisment just came off in a sudden).

Noted, derred... Will do ASAP...

Personally I prefer the CrapCleaner + NOD32 + Eusing Reg Cleaner + NTREGOPT + Self editing the Reg + MSCONFIG combo... More control, but surely it's not for everyone...
