sigh shudve just put an xps warranty and not bundle...not gonna do online of they bundle...later its not and i end up paying for some lucky ******* 2 years cc warranty

Added on April 25, 2008, 10:46 pmi opened up my xps...and the heatsink part i removed the blue pad thinghy thats attached to the GPU (bad move) and my temp rise alot!..played COD4 for an hour and when i exited i8kfangui recorded a max temp of 108 C...reopened...applied a thick layer of thermal paste (had to apply think coz thin layer the heatsink wouldnt be touching at all)...temp drop alot...for now even after pushing it for a few hours on COD4 and bioshock it never goes beyond 76C

owh and undervolted my cpu as well...for mine the highest multiplier i undervolted to the lowest voltage that was avaible thru RightMark CLU clock...man and it runs stable..i changed all the multipliers to 0.9500V..too bad dun have lower option cause i suspect can go even lower.

anyways...here's a little comparison.

before fan clean and everything (roughly 11 months usage)
max cpu temp after stressing with orthos is about 96C...GPU under heavy load can hit 95C (not max, maintain at 90s)

right now after cleaning fans and changing the heat paste and stuff with undervolting cpu

cpu after stressing only go as high as 76C..and it wont go higher!
same thing with GPU..played cs source with full hdr 4 hours online in de dust 2...i was expecting temp to go like 90s...but i8k registered a max of only 77C

(btw..all testing was done with my lappy cooler)...so w/o might be a few degrees hotter)...but hey...still a big difference!

but still a very dumb thing for dell to do la...using heat pads...and they're not very effective at transferring heat

i read a tutorial on how to overcome that...but need to attach ur own piece of copper plate de lur..pretty straightforward...mebe gona do it when i have the time on my hands...finals now

anyone knows the contact number for our XPS customer service center?
my laptop now can last for less than 20min on battery...
darn its wear level is 86% already and my XPS is only 11 months old.

further more the switch to on the wireless and bluetooth is loose already. my bluetooth and wireless keeps on switch on and off by itself.

wad a dissapointment towards DELL hi-end model laptops....

hmm called up the warranty services today and inquired about the price if i want to extend my warranty...

the guy said 1 year would be RM650 while 2 year would be RM 1250, everything included though....i asked him why so big diffference from the one in the website he said thats for inspiron models and apparently if u had any problems that require fixing in the past thats gonna add up to the extended price too.

so how?...seems abit pricey now to extend
