when did this model discontinue? seems the battery cannot last very long on this model? wonder why.
how long can a 6 cell battery last normally? does it have heat problem and compatibility issues with xp?

discontinued last year around July...the one i got was one of the last units already i suppose

well, 6 cell doesnt last very long if u have the nvidia configuration and if you havent tweaked the laptop for performance and undervolting and other stuff. for comparison, my 9 cell can last approximately 5-6 hours purely surfing the web and listening to music on winamp on power saving mode on wireless.

im underclocking but at the same time my GC is over clocked to 560mhz core/550 mem

as for compatibility issues with xp there would be none.

heat issues...well...with stock configuration it can get pretty hot....when i first got it gaming and intense use usually got my cpu and gpu up to near 90C.i suggest opening it up and reseating the heatsink with AS5 and replacing those dumb thermad pads with aluminium or copper.

thanks Azel. the 9 cell performance sounds good to me, how about the 6 cell; can it last 3 hours? how much you bought at that time?

6-cell can do you 3.2 hours, max, if you turn down settings here and there.

9-cell can do up to 7 hours for web surfing and all. i think i did 3 hours of CS over wireless and full brightness too.

This is all on a t5600+geforce 7400. You get better times on the 945gm.

well...usage time varies with the activities ur doing on ur laptop. just wireless and surfing and listening to music would most definitely last u 3 hours...i got mine for a total of RM 3465, pretty much stock configuration, just add the 9 cell and nvidia.

lol zhinsara, i got almost 3 hours with CS:S as well

mine's great as always, actually in pretty mint condition, just the chrome got tiny nicks here and there on the touchpad...and some micro dots in a line below speakers. Heck im confident it can even pass as new.

performance wise, okay for it's "era"...feel envious see people with new laptop with 9 series gpu and new core 2 *sigh*
