Btw, only notice the receipt they provide do not specified free 3 years extended warranty, is that norm? Only the sell guy confirmed me I'm entitle for that.

Thanks mate. This is indeed tempting. I am one of those who have a good working tv with itch for an upgrade.

I must say being a buyer earlier of this year, seeing the major price drop within half a year really pissed me off considering the amount I had to pay for this TV. I meant I fully understand tech stuff will drop price overtime but this is way too drastic. As a a sharp customer, I felt cheated by them. BTW, I am not envy nor do harbour any ill feelings towards current buyers. I am genuinely happy for those new buyers to get such good deals, it's just that I felt Sharp being very unfair towards those earlier buyers.

They have older model 630x 65", picture quality still look great and cheaper (around same price with 6800x 60"), but all sold out already. Otherwise I may take that one instead.

This TV has any built-in browser? Can't find it anywhere. And there's no Chrome in Play store...

Also what app do you guys use to mirror from iOS?

this tv is running on google's androidtv platform.

it is not the same as generic android (which is also from google).

no browser. and yes, androidtv playstore is diff, limited in apps compared to generic android.

but u can always sideload the apk's u get from elsewhere, e.g. download on pc, copy to usb drive.

then, install it with an app like es file explorer or x-plore which are in the playstore.

sideload apps, unlike those from tv playstore will not appear on the homescreen; u either install a sideload launcher app or go to settings/apps to access them.

if u know generic android, it is easier... just some small diff u can overcome; best to use an airmouse or wireless mouse.

take some time to search and read a bit, many things were discussed in ua6800x predecessor thread, the ue630x.

they are similar in almost everything for androidtv, only diff is former is android7, latter is android6.

i am quite sure ua6800x can do everything the ue630x can, maybe more.

sideloading apps, ue630x can do almost everything generic android can - incl astrogo, unifi playtv, browsers, kodi, other common android apps...

Sonic_Darknight, that's how it is with brand new stuff, eg. when Kawasaki released their new bike RM80k, 3 months later RM40k only. Look at the bright side, they have to wait until June 15
lung, better u check with Sharp customer service. They will guide u with downloading apps or, in my case, sent a tech guy to my house FOC

AVFAN, he mostly informed me about compatible apps & updates for Sharp 6800x so that it won't crash
Nope we don't use Chrome
BEM69, one time I couldn't find my DVD player input I think TV was too busy handling all the apps

Yes, I think it is wise not to sideload doubtful apps.

This is Sharp’s 4k top of the range. For the similar price range, u would likely get the entry level 4K from Sony and Samsung.
