i am not into new TVs but my guess is ah1x is a bit better than ah8x - in terms of design and hardware.

but both are inferior to al1x.

so, i suggest u consider al1x instead unless u must save on small bucks.

or the older ua6800x which is popular as u can see from this thread.

al1x and ua6800x are android8 androidtv based.

some people will tell it such a feature is useless if u have a box already, which i disagree.

tvs built with android tv tyically have better hardware, upscaling and support, besides the ability to run android apps incl astrogo and unifi playtv which many boxes can't do.
and if not mistaken, i think u have been hunting for some time now, settled on hisense or haier??

It is mentioned LED Backlight on the Box.. Not sure if its referring to Edge / Full
On the manual, it says the manual is applicable for 4TC60AL1X & 4TC70AL1X

Spec wise :

Android os 8.0
LAN Port : 10/ 100 Mbps.
WLAN : AC 5ghz
I can use all applications and features which i was previously using on my Minix Android Box.
- Astro on the go & Viu ( orientation app installed )
- Netflix HDR & Youtube HDR Preinstalled
- Directv now, BBC I player,
- Unifi TV, Hotstar App for indian TV shows
- Sideload launcher and Orientation installed ( Thanks to this thread)
- Able to connect my Tronsmart G02 gamepad via Bluetooth to play games.
- Able to use Minix A3 Remote Air mouse and keyboard works fine.
Few questions which i need help  with :

1) I noticed the tv remote has a button power devices. Can i program it to control my sony soundbar ? If yes please guide.

2)What is the recommended output method to achieve best sound  quality. Currently connected my thru optic cable from TV to Soundbar. Not using any other devices.
At the moment i choose "Bitrate [SPDF]" as output.. there is also PCM and Dolby Digital in my tv
Whereas my soundbar supports dolby true HD

Dude or dudess, when it comes to TVs or any similar home AV equipment.. Think AVRs, HTs, Projectors, Speakers, etc. You'll never find the premium stuff priced at lower end of the range. It's been like that and always will be. Doesn't matter if back a decade, 1080p was considered premium but now it's basic specs. Also, if truly your budget was RM10K and or onwards, you'd definitely not even consider products from HiSense or TCL.. So please, don't try to act a player. The big dogs in TV manufacturing (where design, performance and specs are concerned) are Samsung, Sony, Sharp and LG. Any home electronics big player will tell you this. 10 years ago, 5 years ago, last year and even this year.. Others are merely playing catch up.

As for if the 6800x is a cheap TV or not.. You wouldn't even, given the same price, pick a similarly specced TCL brand over it.. That was my opinion all along. You came here seeking an opinion supposedly different from yours and you got it. End end, still went for what I told.. Could have saved yourself a whole lot of time. If as you say the joy is in the journey vs the destination, bruh.. You wouldn't have come here.. You would have just cruised around town, popping in and out of TV shops and reveling in "the journey".. Ultimately, still end up where you are. Why? Cuz you've got a budget (not RM10k or anywhere close to it) and you want it stretched.. Pardon my bluntness... Enjoy your purchase..

FYI, i never look down on inexpensive stuffs or a bargain. In fact, I've promised myself to never pay full price or become an early adopter of such electronic products any longer. What I seek is the best quality within my budget and ignore everything else. So if there are lesser quality items within or lower than my budget, I tend not to even bother with them as their quality obviously will not compare favorably.

Mind sharing this reputable ranking where HiSense actually trumps Sony in TV? 10 years later.. I can fairly guarantee that they'll remains as is or drop.. The only truly popular Chinese smartphone brand outside China is by Xiaomi.. Others are still playing catch-up tech and performance-wise and will find it hard (bar a Nokia fiasco which Samsung and Apple won't be silly to repeat) to match the heavyweights. Anyway, if you don't agree? I understand.. Each is entitled to their own opinions. That's why we have a forum.

I did.. Also notice I mentioned real world usage and OUTSIDE China.. Walk into any coffee shop in any decent city worldwide and you'd be hard pressed to find those brands as opposed to the more popular global brands..
Panels doesn't make the whole TV.. Apple uses Samsung displays.. does that make it a Samsung phone? Nope.. Hope you understand.
ARC unless limited by your AV equipment is capable of up to 5.1 DTS-HD MA... I personally confirm this... Yes, if any connected device requires more than your AVR is capable of outputting.. You are better off connecting directly to the TV itself.. i mentioned this to you earlier.
That's the beauty of getting devices with a specific function and built for such... To get the same unique performance from an HTPC, that some RM3xx or less android boxes can easily do..? One must spend at least RM1k or much more speccing a decent HTPC.. IMO.. waste of money. Buy a powerful Android OS powered media player and be done with it. yes, up to 7.1 ATMOS and DTS:X

Lastly, HDR is just additional data that lets you see more of what was already recorded. it's not like high bitrates or res.. Besides, Netflix's 4K and HDR isn't true 4K either. it's heavily compressed for easy streaming and playback over the internet.

Nope.. I did not judge based on coffee shop statistics..And if you think I did so, instead of it being readily aparent that it was merely an easy to digest point of reference.. then I can't say anything more..

No you did not claim panel = TV, but that should have told you that I have some insights into the AV industry and been keeping tabs.. I'm still waiting on your alleged proof of small players overtaking the big dogs. Remember, we are talking TVs or AV equipment here yeah.. and not GDP or economic freedom or happiness scale, etc.. Until then, ciao..

Honestly dont see point of 8k model....unless you need like over 80 inch TV. Contents also dont have...seems pointless for now. Better to make newer Androids TV with faster processors, bigger storage, Aquamotion, HDR 2.1 with eArc and Dolby Atmos, local dimming and maybe OLED. Sharp dont have OLED right?

i don't think price can go down any lower...they will just phase it out. Now RM500 for 32" FHD. Next time RM500 for 32" 4K. Then maybe 55" onwards all 8k and jual mahal again. And the cycle continues.

Actually, not much difference in the brightness. You can check it out in showrooms. I would prefer the UA6800X for 2 reasons:
1. Cheaper by RM 200- RM300.
2. Slimmer. (Yes, thks to edge lightning, it is only thick at the bottom half of the TV. The AL1X model is thick from top to bottom because of direct lightning. You can compare the images at Sharp's Malaysia website.)

And yes, by 30th April. Buy now or forever hold your peace!

a quick glance, i spot these differences for bk1x vs the older 2:

.. android 9.0 vs android 8.0
.. 3 hdmi 2.0a vs 4 hdmi (2x2.0, 2x2.0a)
.. BT 5.0 vs 4.0
.. HDR/HDR10/HLG vs "HDR"

the only major difference to me is support for HLG.
but since HLG is mainly for live broadcast streams like BBC/BBCiplayer, it may not be that useful locally.
however, i would expect the "HDR10" performance is improved for contrast and color depth.

one thing i am curious... HLG ext input will need hdmi 2.0b.
since 3xhdmi are all 2.0a, it is unclear if it will support HLG files playback or reduce to HDR.
that, will have to hear from a user.
as usual, i expect the price for new model to be higher by rm300-500 than its 1 year old predecessor(s).

BTW, i thought u already bought a new samsung... still shopping?
