I think you overlook one thing; for many, Grab is the highest possible paying job they can get. You may say go do taxi better etc....well..I heard its not all that rosy either compared to grab. Lets not even be surprised ppl will happily let Grab plaster their car for extra few dollars....many will take loan from Grab with exorbitant interest rate or take a discounted handphone from Grab. Thats the reality of the job market and prospect for drivers and people in this country right now.

PS: if you think full timers cannot earn with Grab...you should see those who got banned from GRab and still doing e-hailing with MyCar.

Saw that, after 6 months and there is no clear guideline given by any e-hailing company or government until now.

I suspect government and e-hailing company is trying to negotiate something in the back. Government want to show who is the boss now by firing this shot, impossible JPJ officer giving this saman as they like without higher authority consent.

This time driver is smart to make recording, if they don't compensate them, i'm sure boycott will widespread at Penang for sure.

I remember when I first graduated, I earned RM 2,400 without OT. I went to work at 6 am and left around 10 pm. Day in day out even on Saturdays. Everyday grind, morning eat and pack 2 x RM 1 nasi lemak for brunch and dinner. Give mother, give father, give gf. Save save save. After 7 years of this shit, now I am in a position where I can go in anytime I want and clock out at 5:15 pm. Alot of annual leaves and a comfortable paycheque. But I don't sit at home goyang kaki, I still spend every day 4 hours drive grab after work and on weekends.

Thats why I say loh, if you are willing to put in 12-16 hours, you confirm, can get far for your career. I see my staff all also every day complain not enough money when ask them to show some work or perform then complain not enough energy. Give them OT with double and triple, want to go dating. That's privilege man.

A lot of people try to find an easy way out, keep jumping here and there but without expecting, age jump past them but salary never jump

After amortization, interest, depreciation and maintenance of the car used for grabbing riders, my professional akauntan concur that it doesnt make ringgit and sense. Even the taxi fellas can hardly makes a decent living where most of them cannot afford to retire.
Taxi owners after making the final payment would be buying another car as the old car is too expensive to maintain with the wear and tear. and riders would reluctant to ride old cars for long distance. And they do not have EPF saving to retire. I have a friend who was still driving in his late sixties while he has symptoms of stroke. Despite being aware of the risk which could lead to acute stroke, he simply got no choice but to drive on.

Most of all, many would be medically compromised with disease like cardio vascular diseases or joints inflammation due to poor dietary intake, lack of exercise, inadequate rest or even sleep after all the years of driving. Human beings are like the automobiles where it would be cranky after all the long mileage.

IMHO, for those who are young and able to source jobs with thier skills should not do ehailing full time as they are losing the most precious element in thier life - TIME & OPPORTUNITY & CAREER.

Unless one is being lay off , stuck with the car repayment and have to cari makan for himself and family, it is to source for income temporary while looking high and low for a career job. if the worker is being retrenched, at least he got some monies compensation but if he given banana by Crap, the driver is peanut jammed.

For oldies where they are Hawaii 5 - O or so, it is also good for them to drive for fun and fund. Stirred and not shaken in Zero Zero 7 style where they are cruising at thier leisure time to pick up hotties with fares and incentives. Provided they are not doing wild goose chase for time boost .

BTW, I bought my cars without installment payments headache and using 4G phone to grab riders. The 4 G phone is brand new costing RM250 aje where it is doing the job to find riders fine better than my Samsong and Sonny where the battery is Eveready with 3500mah. Meow with bigger display screen 2 while cruising around in my EXORA NGV that goes 1000 kilometrico with both gas and petrol tankful.

Can Grab driver "complete" a ride without actually picking up the rider? I have my colleague charged when the driver didn't even pick him up but suddenly the job is done and got charged.

Just report the driver, go to history > select booking > report an issue. Grab will refund to your colleague for incomplete ride if using grabpay.

It does have some bad drivers doing that for not physically pick up customer.

I selected 3pm but given 2pm too. I can't make it. Bye crap.
