hi guys, hope some ppl can help me out here. Usually pay my CIMB Cash Rebate from Cimb Clicks directly on 1st of the month (statement due 17th).

When selecting to pay, do you guys usually click statement balance or full balance? Most of the time, full balance will be higher charge than statement balance.

However, for my DEC 2017 statement, my full balance was lower than statement balance. So of cos la I click full balance.

Come Jan 2018, I kena finance charge rm24. According to the customer rep, it's cause I paid Full balance instead of Statement balance. Wtf? I thought full balance means clear all debt. Not my fault if they included the cash rebate in the calculation right? Anyone kena before?
You paid in full and you should not be charged further as you even paid those that had not been stated in the last statement... but for RM24, that's alot too... that's weird... hmm.gif

You have to pay statement balance. It's common for CIMB, they don't treat cash back as a form of payment and will charge you for financial charges.

If it's your first time to be charged, try to ask for waiver. They may consider to waive.

Hmmmm didn't know could ask for waiver. Already just paid everything. Sheesh lesson learnt just to pay statement balance and not full balance.

Exactly. I thought full balance means all settled no further outstanding. Tbh i don't even know how they ended up at rm24.

For CIMB, must pay statement balance. As simple as this. smile.gif
It could be when he paid his full balance that time it is lesser than statement balance after minus off cash back.

I didn't know would kena punish if paid full balance. It's one of the options they gave so happened to be lower. lol not like I sendiri calculate.
All the cash back I thougth they usually only minus off next statement? hmm confused.
anyway yea will just stick to statement balance from now on.

Yes, minus off in next statement but you "indirectly" deducted from current statement.

Yes, for CIMB stick to statement balance. Even for all banks, for my ease of calculation, I just stick to statement balance all the time.

Why CIMB cards so stingy? Lounge access also must spend RM100k per annum to maintain? Which CIMB card is comparable to Maybank Card Premier 2?

CIMB Premier cards - No annual fee.
M2 Premier - minimum spend RM80k/year or annual fee RM800.

Hmm, now I'm slightly worried. For the first time I just paid full for my CIMB cards. The cashback for each card is like just a few cents.
But CIMB doesn't allow paying less than RM1 to my card though.

your cashback, few cents, is always AFTER statement date, right?

so, just pay the statement balance lor. it has no impact

with the few cents excess, you ARE going to use the card for future spending, right? These transactions will effectively offset the few cents anway.

even if u ask for waiver, they will ask u to pay first then credit it back to u later on.
usually there are 2 charges (late payment charge and ?interest rate charge). something like that, u can see the specific term used in your statement
so since u paid for it already. maybe u can just try your luck, call them and ask for waiver. the CS will put in a request for waiver and finger crossed that they approve it

I'm actually planning to stop using the card, which is why I paid full. I usually just paid statement.
For a few months, the cards were only used to pay for RM20 Unifi autopay. Now that I have Maybank Barcelona, CIMB CR is now useless, so I'm stashing it in my drawer.

stop using means the card still active, so cimb will still track your payment vs statement balance. all fees are still chargeable to your card.

unless you TERMINATE the card, then your final payment can include the earned cashback. biggrin.gif

Sorry if this is asked before, I got two premium lounge vouchers from my CIMB visa. Can I use that to bring my parents in? I will be present together as well.

I already have other cards to bring myself in.

Make sure you have the CIMB card activated with PIN-ready, and show your boarding pass.
You can request to allow 1 of your parents to enter PPL with 1 voucher.
Not sure if PPL-CIMB will allow you to exercise the 2 vouchers within 1 day. For other cards, usually you can use only once a day, regardless of locations.

Hi guys, i am a bit confused here, regarding the statement and also full balance. For example, my statement balance is
Attached Image

Then here is the amount i saw in my account:
Attached Image

And I paid only the amount after the cash rebate reduction. For all this while i paid only the outstanding amount. Will this kena the finance charge as well? As my current outstanding is RM 0.00.

Thanks.

You need to pay full amount according to statement balance w/o offsetting the cash rebate.
