Hello! So far I’m still very happy with the car!!

I think one of the best pros has to be the safety systems, they are truly world class.

I used to have an X5 too, suspension kept giving errors and the headlights of the X5 we too high and narrow. Driving in the Mercedes like I’ve been given a new set of eyes.

Car has always had a weird breathing sound when in idle, Mercedes’ said it’s the normal sound of the coolant pump and it’s not an issue unless you sit in extended periods of time in the car without music or ac turned on.

I think the only problems I’ve had with the car are to do with the tyres. I live in Petaling Jaya and when we first got the car, within 2 weeks of normal driving on Jalan university and the front tyres were bloated and needed replacement. Kept happening many times and after the 5th replacement my uncle recommended we over inflate the tyres, so far no issue since then.

I really really recommend anyone getting the car to please take Mercedes’ tyre and rim insurance, it’s almost impossible to add on after the tyres have been damaged. I didn’t know you need to buy the tyre from cnc or hap Seng if want to be eligible, even if it exact same tyre.

Black gloss rims are a demon to keep clean though, even with my ceramic coating the rims are full of brake dust after even one drive
Other than that, there is a bit of turbo lag when driving on 95 and 97, Ron 100 Petron fixes the issue but I’ve only filled up 100 when the petrol prices crashed during the pandemic last year. I have an S60 too and it’s much more responsive as it’s battery assisted.

Overall I love the car, seats are wonderful, driving is comfortable and effortless with the self drive modes, you just feel so safe. Screens are so big and clear, sound system is awesome and bassy and interior lights are very beautiful at night.

You won’t regret, enjoy !

Nope zero issues. Car has no problems so far. Mercedes also has an extended warranty programme if you are afraid of after warranty issues

Hi everyone,

My 4 years MBM warranty is nearing expiry, want to ask if the “Extended Limited Warranty” Package +2 years worth it?
I am considering the +2 years should give me some good night sleep and limit the car repair cost exposure (if touch wood) those failed the coming 2 years.
Likewise all the 3 years+ coming to 4 years have been trouble free with the car, which is a blessing.
My thought is like buying critical illness insurance obviously hoping not to kena any of those illnesses…

Appreciate some thoughts or input.

Thank you.

Does the extended warranty covers ECU failure ?Not sure which model are you driving. W205 has the common issue of ECU failure and engine misfiring issues after 4 to 5 years of usage.

The ELW package offered to me covers All Mechanical and Electrical (AMAE), which include the ECU.
Previous Extended warranty only covers Mechanical now they added 9 electrical coverage.
Obviously that comes with the extra price for the package.

If you intend to keep the car for another few years, it’s only right that you buy the extended warranty! ECu replacement by-see and see cost rm 13,680 inclusive of labor and with no warranty! Of course one can source from those half cut shop.

Ahh...noted. Mine is the glc300 coupe, got it in 2020. I'll check with SA, likely will extend the warranty in the event if keeping the car for more than 4 years.

I bought for my GLA250 couple of years back from Hap Seng to extend warranty to 5th and 6th year. Cost me abt 3K(or 2plus...can't remember but around there la). But so far (touch wood) no issues la.
Hopefully will still be very good after the 6th year. Pretty reliable so far.

Anyone have issues with their 2015 GLA250 so far?

Thanks. I also owned a GLA250, bought from HSS in 2018 and sold it in end of 2019. For GLA, the only issue I have are the RFT tires which is really noisy, the sports seats are kinda stiffed. Other than that, everything is good.
