Guys, have you ever wonder what's that system temp in the smart guardian software refers to which part of the motherboard? hmm.gif

Yesterday, when there is no activity on my pc neither a fan blowing on top of my southbridge heatsink, the temps goes up to 48degrees.

Then, out of curiosity, i tried cooling the southbridge heatsink with a powerful 2500RPM 92MM Fan.
And guess what, the temps on the "System" drop like crazy. The temp drop to 34degrees! shocking.gif

System Temperature without any fan blowing to southbridge heatsink: 48degrees
System Temperature with a 92MM fan running at 2500RPM blowing to southbridge heatsink: 34degrees

Sorry if this sound old to you, but this is a new thing for me. laugh.gif

Actually I am looking or trying to DIY a heatsink to place on top of all the power regulators beside the cpu.

Maybe that will help. I have a fan that keep blowing these regulators

Thanks Shawty. Now i know why mine is at 50+c on load. The 8800GTX is right above it. Hmmm, gotta see if i can stick a fan on the SB.

Or better yet, change the heatsink to some heatsink that has fan on top of it, but still on the same thickness of the stock southbridge heatsink.

Anyone has any ideas what type of heatsink that has fan on it but at the same thickness as the stock southbridge heatsink that can fit on the southbridge? hmm.gif

No HR-05 SLi please, it's overkill for the southbridge.

That would be super, but as you said, ada ka ? cry.gif

Well, straight out of bed OC activity:

This with the 2 enhanced mem settings set to fast too. Butttt, orthos crashes immediately. Guess a vcore bump should fix things, and maybe off-ing that enhanced memory timing thing. ehehe.

ES proc ? Also take note that the board will boot up once, then reset and then boot up properly.
The only time when it kep on resetting was when i think my GTX was loose. If all else fails, try using a different PSU just to test. I read it's quite picky on PSUs.
