I only have one grouse. Why took away IR ?
It's just a tiny dot on the top side.
If our remotes suddenly not bat power. The phone with IR can still get things done until battery replacement.

haha. Everybody have their own obsession. I have never ever use phone's IR whereas it's a Must Thing for you.

The last phone I had with an IR was the Note 3, and I hardly used it anyway Anyway it seems that most flagship phones have started to exclude the IR feature.

Well one thing.... No matter how much costly or prestige of the other phone ( kimchi or PRC brand or that fruit phone) can boast , nothing can beat a phone with extra feature like IR.

I like handy stuff to control things.... And I get to impress the chicks too.... LOL

Yes... And the chicks manning the Samsung service centre front counter I went didn't even know there is IR on the older phone of theirs.

They were all stunned when I show and switch their Samsung TV there. LOL

Imagine such a low tech (gadget) can impress the chicks. Haha.

That sure is a handy fishing tool. More than a decade ago, I used the same tactic using the IR from the flagship nokia phone (9210) and turned off and on the tv. She thought the place was haunted hence she grab hold of me so tight and sat so close to me I could hardly breathe.

it may be improbable due to the S-pen. In addition, I think they compensated the lack of stereo with the bluetooth v5.0 technology. besides, isn't it audible enough for notification/listening to music or watching short clips? just my opinion though.

Anyone owned samsung gear S3 frontier?

Is it a good invenstment ?

using since it was launched december last year.. it's now my daily watch... no issues with the watch so far.. ample of watch faces to download and heard there will be a major update to TIZEN 3.0 soon.. average usage is about 2-3 days before needed to be charged. since it uses wireless charging, it's convenient to charge it but it also means you need to carry the small little charging dock if you will be out of town for more than 3 days..

Or should i wait for Gear S4 ? Haha ..

the price of GS3 still hover below 10-20% of the RRP.. i feel it's a good buy (for me la) and the straps can buy quite cheap on lazada, quality is ok too...
and for the ultimate chick magnet... u can use samsung pay on GS3 ... imagine paying with your watch leh... downside is that u won't get points thru GS3

I also keep looking at suitable flagship phone from various manufacturer. Currently I am using Note 4, which has most of the sensors. There are many occasion that IR sensor does come in handy especially when a remote is missing, low battery level or is not available (e.g.: keep by someone, shop owner etc.). To share my experience, I don't have those "extraordinary" encounter, I just switch to my preferred channel in a coffee shop without anybody knowing!
Miss those missing "sensors".

yes...we can do our own adjusting.

like an instance, was in dining a dinner in a private room. the room Aircond was so cold.
we asked the waiters to bring the remote to turn up the temperature.
call...and...call, to no avail. no one bothered to come adjust.

I brought out my Note Edge. All my colleagues were amazed what IR can do to help in those situation. adjusted to 27C and every one happy.

many there having those prestige Fruity phone and others brands / model but cant even do a thing.
they asked me i use what app to control.

But I told them its not only an app is required / needed but it NEEDs an IR blaster. ( the tiny little dot on the top side of the phone)

there was another time when one shop so kedekut , dowan turn aircon on...i use the IR to remotely turn on. LOL!!


IR is a chick magnet too!!!!! LOL!!!

can chat up with the chicks. done that many timesss..... song ahhh!!!
