then maybe it won't show like that if the receiver not updated with this functionality yet, i guess

Yes aaron. It needs both users using the same updated version for it to work.

Anybody here has issues adding their Maybank Visa Card in Samsung Pay? I even tried entering manually but as soon as it detects the 2nd set of 4 digits, it says the card is not supported...

If you see the comparison video below, you will knew that iPhone 8 plus's video are warmer in colour. So i am curious to know, is it possible with Samsung to achieve the same with some apps? Or something? I knew this can be corrected with Software.

Just ended my one-month stint with my Note 8. Some thoughts:-

- This was by far the best Samsung device I have ever used, albeit for a very short period. While S8+ was a very, very good phone (I used it prior to changing to the Note 8), the Note 8 is not just a S8+ with a S-pen. The additional 2GB RAM makes everything stutter less and everything was buttery smooth. That with the very good dual lens camera makes the Note 8 a worthy upgrade from the S8+ for the RM300 difference in RRP. The difference in the street price is harder to justify though.

- Although the battery size is slightly smaller than the S8+, the SOT and standby time is pretty similar to the S8+. The infamous Android “battery leak” is less apparent with Android 7.1 and it’s a huge difference from the days of the Note 3 (my last Samsung device that lasted for more than a year). I still had issues every now and then like the battery draining more than 10% at night with max power saving mode on and device being idle through the night, but a device restart fixes the issue.

- I had this problem with the S8 and the S8+, and it carried over to the Note 8. Sometimes my WhatsApp message notifications would be delayed till I on the app. Even with all the tweaks for battery optimization and app permissions that I managed to Google, the issue persists every now and then. It got me into some awkward situations with some colleagues and clients. (Between the S8 and S8+, I used the HTC U11 and did not face this issue)

- The S-Pen is great. Love the text conversion and translation features. If you need to have a device with a stylus, the Note 8 it is (no idea on the Note FE, but I’d imagine it’s equally as good?).

- The Note 8 fully deserves its top scores in dxomark. The camera is excellent. The interface could be a little more simplified but as far as a phone camera goes, this one is right up there with the best.

- I guess I was fortunate but my unit had no defects, not even the infamous light leak. Build quality is very good.

- Did not try the bundled AKG earphones but if it was similar to the S8, then I won’t be missing out. The U11’s is far superior.

All in all, the Note 8 is an excellent device but the retail price of RM 3,999 is hard to swallow considering how fast the value drops. That said, those that bought it with the famous (or infamous, depending on how you see it) Qoo10 coupon should be happy - it’s a great buy!

If your Visa card was previously registered with Samsung Pay on another device, you need to call Maybank to delete the token. Removing the card manually from Samsung Pay in the older device is not enough.

1. our phone is that canggih until it can replicate the magnetic strip of physical cards. hence our samsung pay can work on older terminals. people have been doing this since samsung s6, it's called Magnetic Secure Transmission.

2. if the seller don't know what is samsung pay or don't have pay wave, I'll just ask him to bring over the terminal. then type the amount needed to pay, select VISA (if asked). then i will tap my phone at the place where u swipe the card. it's a little slow, but be patient.

however and has failed to go thru at ONE merchant (coffea coffee sri petaling). so far i use samsung pay MST (NOT Paywave) at all other terminals without fail. mostly at bars, and some older/local hypermarkets .

Read all the post in this thread regarding tempered class and screen protector. Here is a small conclusion:

1) Dont use tempered class on note 8 cause it will spoil the user experience
2) Using cheap tempered class because all tc/SP are the same
3) Whitestone dome user - good review so far but expensive
4) X-one - mix of review - some have screen sensitivity issue, edge lift up
5) HAO - mix of review - dust and sensitivity issue.

If you are using tempered class, please copy/reply this post with your answer and comments on how is your experience so far with the SP in term of sensitivity, dust, and etc and what tempered class you use?

I'm using HAO for past few days.
I don't face any sensitivity issue. It feel absolutely like naked.
No dust issue too since this is full adhesive TG.
I can really recommend anyone this TG for those who looking for high quality TG.
And the service at HAO shop in Cheras also quiet good. Staffs were friendly and you can watch movie or playing PS4 while waiting for them to do the installation.
