A bit off topic but coinciding with Kimi's last win after 5 years, I just found out that Sebastian Loeb had just won again in Catalunya after 6 years off at the age of 44 and only on his 3rd rally entry this year! He won by only 2.9 secs from Ogier. This guy is just unbelievable and a true driving legend!

Yeah it was too much tire management, especially in this race. Maybe its good if F1 has another period of tire wars. I read that Hankook is considering to enter F1.

How come motogp still can exciting with no tire wars laugh.gif hmm.gif

Just the nature of motorcycle racing is always more exciting due to the risk of falling/crashing much higher.

holy crap

just found out Mercedes is racing one last time before bowing out of DTM ohmy.gif

what a way 2 end the final year with a bang from the champ who previously won it 13 years ago rclxms.gif

I don't think there is ever the F1 season where the racer miraculously won all the last 6 races but still failed 2 win the title laugh.gif rclxub.gif

salute audi goodbye video 2 its traditional fiercest rival ever notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

next year DTM will be aston martin vs audi vs BMW and it surely will be more exciting soon cool2.gif cool2.gif

Aiyo, old news already leh, last year Mercs already announced they quit DTM by end of this year.

Yeah they went out back on top but only after revised car regulations where the aero package was simplified and reduced.

The more the merrier as long as it's a good layout and doesn't replace any of the existing legendary tracks.

1. Lewis
2. Seb
3. Bottas

Surprisingly no penalty to Lew (almost colliding with Sir & Kim) and Seb ("destroyed" the scale).

Rubbish la this FIA, that was so dangerous on what he did to Sirotkin. We’ve seen other drivers penalized for less

Yeah I was expecting him to get a grid penalty too but the thing is Sirotkin was on an outlap so he did get hampered/loose any lap times, that's why FIA could not penalize Ham. The other thing is They're all on their outlaps where normally they would need to maintain distances between each other, and in this case somehow Sirotkin did not and went much faster than the rest. Maybe Ham should've been penalized for dangerous driving but the same case can also be argued towards Sirotkin coz he went much faster than the rest on his outlap. So looks like a bit grey area hence FIA didn't do anything. Would've been great for the show if Ham got grid penalty though. biggrin.gif

I disagree with the drivers should maintain distances between each other during outlaps. We've seen drivers jostling for track position on their outlaps before. Yes, you might say Sirotkin was faster than the rest, but is there a ruling to say drivers are not supposed to exceed certain speeds for their outlaps? Even then, Hamilton was also not careful when Kimi was on a flying lap and Kimi had to go off the racing line although it didn't affect him too much in terms of time. The fact that Hamilton not being even considered for an investigation kinda reflects the perception of the FIA favouring him too often.

FIA shall rename to MIA lar... Mercedes International Alliance
Ocon was driving a Mercedes-powered PU, who knows if Mercedes controlled and make his car suddenly so powerful since this happened before?

While Hamilton on another hand limiting engine output to avoid failure. Are we watching driver-controlled F1 or engineer-controlled F1? whistling.gif

True but the key is that Sirotkin was not hampered/loosing time hence FIA didn't really have a solid base to penalize Ham as the penalty only takes affect if a driver hampered another one during a fast lap. Maybe they have to reword the rule a bit.

Yeah silly move by Ocon. In the olden days of Senna, Ocon would have a knuckle sandwich firmly stuffed in his mouth there like what Senna did to Irvine.

The podium samba dancing was more entertaining than the race. laugh.gif

Anyway the race had quite a few of good overtaking by Max and Ric but other than that and the Max/Ocon incident, the race was pretty dull especially as the Ferraris were toothless, stuck behind Bottas for so long while Max was able to pass so easily.
