after nearly 2 years active driving uber, i finally decided to switch to grab.

i manage to maintain a good 4.84 average rating, reaching 1800 rides d. but
lately uber driver apps is getting unreliable. crash all the time. it crash then rider cancel ride, and i didnt get notified about it, i reach the pickup point just to know that ride has been canceled, feel like a fool d. and also, driver destination is not functioning, it has been months.

no need to clean up the dirty car mats almost everyday. LOL.

One thing good abt Uber is to be able to ignore pings as u like... cancellation fare... most rider on point for pickup. Fun, but only during high surge..

plan to try to do uber black switching from Grab premium.

Grab premium have very little customer.

i had a ride with uber black once. the driver told me a bit hard to get rm200 per day. people use uber black for short distance trip. if average per trip rm10, u need to get 20 rides a day, if u're lucky enough to get that much.

i did uberX for nearly two years, got all sorts of riders, even the rich ones. pickup from sierramas, valencia, bukit damansara, kiara, hartamas, tropicana etc u name it. ive been there. my point is, even rich people use uberX. why do they want to spend on uber black since they already have high-end cars? pro service? they dont mind wann.. they just want to get from point a to b.

i've experience a lot of bugs with uber app recently...with delayed ride cancellation pop-up and error calculating trip fare etc...not the best version this current one.


i drive uBlack, and quite happy with it. if u've driven the X version before, u'll appreciate Black alot more.
earning wise, on a good day, can above RM300 with 6-8 hours drive. normal day, RM200-250 is quite achievable.
u need to know the hours to drive & the areas to drive. and concentrate on those areas.
busiest time between 730am to 11am and from around 4pm to 8pm..in between and after, is bonus and can get extremely quiet & frustrating.
there are plenty short rides but 90% rides is above RM10. u'll actually be surprised how many RM20+ to RM30+ rides there can be..
80% riders are mat-salleh, expats, mid-eastern holiday makers etc..on some occasion will get local riders who usually use X but couldn't get a ride or the price surge becomes so high is equal/cheaper to use Black.

btw, how much can earn driving GrabPremium?

for grab premium, it can range from RM100 per day to RM200 per day within 4-5 hours drive.

if lucky can get RM200 ++.

But with bad economy nowadays, usually get Rm100 you should be happy liao.
the demand is really poor.

just wanna say, the rider well & truly deserved it and deserved what is coming to her now that its viral.

the lady claimed earlier driver cancelled on her and she was charged.

cancellation fees will not be charged to rider if driver was the one who cancelled it, unless driver waited more than 5mins and rider no-show.

so, either rider herself cancelled when driver oredi arrived/after 5mins from booking or driver waited and she no-show.

i've had countless experience where rider says previous drivers cancelled on them, couldn't locate them etc etc and some was even charged cancellation fees but never ever a rider spoke to me like the way this lady did. just prove what an idiot this lady is.
kudos to the driver for having the balls to taruk her back!

RM200 in 4-5hours drive is quite good oredi.
but RM100 is really bad la... economy might be bad, but i guess it does not impact the black rider much...

i drive in KL & PJ...personally, i think PJ area is more fruitful than KL area.

sigh ..this is so true. Uber app really problematic. Beside the frequent crash after rider cancelled trip, it also have problem loading the surge numbers, some time load half way. They killed many drivers by restricting SD. And with lesser drivers during certain hours, they ping cars that are 10-20km away. ETA to rider 15-20min. Totally absurb. Uber seriously diggin their own grave.

I beg to differ that Ubers technology is inferior to crap. On the contrary, it's at least 1 year ahead. From past history, whatever Uber throws away, crap will pick up, for eg hourly guarantees, SD.

believe that Uber is now refining SD to prevent abuse by certain groups (you know who you are!!). Very typical of Uber ethics, instead of resorting to banning, they use technology to prevent the abuse.

Accidentally discovered, so it may be under trial now..

- SD can be set any time, any location after completing 20+ trips

- app will ask if you want to activate SD when you switch offline. This is random, no particular pattern

- the excuse of maintaining network reliability is bullshit! If terms are not met, SD is not available even in the middle of the jungle

I usually gave 1 star to all short distance riders to create awareness for other drivers before they pick up the booking. I alway choose riders above 4.6 and distance below 3km.
Hope all drivers can do the same so we can know how is the riders behavior. I think all drivers understand the feeling of picking up the riders short distance. Sorry to riders alway looking for short distance and cheap rides.

sometimes SD was not available even when the ublur app map is white with no boost....at non peak hours

but sometimes can be on also although I did zero trip before that.

Can someone enlighted the criteria for using ublur SD? cannot brain how their backend set their system criteria.

As mentioned earlier, I believe it's still on trial with AI factored in (your online pattern) to prevent being abused by certain groups for their selfish benefit.

Rather unusual that you don't like short trips... Don't you have quest & boost which can add 10 bucks to the trip. Can't imagine that you wanna forego 13 bucks for a 1km trip

who told you that they are on trial? On trial on what aspect of the SD?
just disallow their drivers SD to klia will do if this is their purpose.
