waiting time charges in PP
*
have u guys experienced where the rider calls to inform he's running late and ask u to 'Start Trip' first?
i'm just curious, if in that situation, would it be better to hit start trip or let the wait time charges run?
there was once i was told to start trip while he 'finishing my drink' which took 20-25mins

why the rider didn't book the car when he is ready? I would cancel the trip after 5 minutes and let him bear the cancellation fees.

I doubt start the trip early will overwrite the ublur famous upfront fare, i.e. Still the same the fare paid by rider.

Also, if start trip already the rider no shown? Cannot cancel how? End the trip and possible 1 star rating from rider?

Actually u only earn 75% of that rm1.76 waiting time. which is rm1.32. so about rm0.13/minutes. maybe a 2 star rating from rider???
*
Rider simply give low rating also need to give explanation. If they complain about fare, that won't affect driver's DR. If rider pandai, they complain other things about you.

Haha true

By right cancellation waiting or whatever fees should all give driver ma or else its just worthless laugh.gif doh.gif
*
Like what bcombat said, it is to encourage riders to be punctual and don't simply cancel and make sure they put the right location. Not useless.

As usual, Grab thread full of drivers complaining CR CR CR.... Sked banned....

Actually, that should be the way. Just like taxis, they start their meter once they reach (if you book them through phone/apps).

But the problem with Uber.. Once you hit Start Trip, you cannot cancel if rider no show.

But I heard that there is a way to cancel after swiping Start Trip, but I haven't try yet.

If rider ask to Start Trip first and you are confident he/she will show up, then I think it's ok gua...

I also got one rider before, she enter my car already so I swipe Start Trip, but then she ask me to wait for her friend. Like 10-15 minutes like that. Later on the fare was higher than the upfront fare. But she was okay with it. When her friend ask why the fare higher? She explain that probably because of the waiting time.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

we can turn the knobs to get this business even on a full basis profitable, but you would sacrifice growth and sacrifice innovation.”

In general, he was very optimistic about self-driving cars and spoke of a day where the average ride will be about $1 per mile, down from roughly $2.50 per mile. It’s “the only way to get the cost down,” he said of driverless transportation.

question will be how many countries already approved self-driving car on the road? All I read is all still in testing mode, non really approved on public road yet.

Once government approved, then, I would say very soon. But, before that, another hurdle, get pass Proton and Perodua protectionism policy first biggrin.gif

Already approved in US. China won't be far behind, rest of the world will just follow, as they always do

Proton? non issue, already sold to Geely

It also depends how tech company roll out the model

The fastest would be to license it, Waymo, provide software, the rest of players go whack it out among themselves

note: the chinese are trying to catch up on autonomous driving, the government just given the green light for open road testing, you can only assured of 1 thing, "China Speed"
