Will  m109a5 procurement from Us be affected as a result of our vote against Us in UN meeting?

US already saying that they will take ' name' the country that voted against them and will probably cut the financial aid..

According to this websites, in 2018, malaysia will received around 2.4 m USD

not cut off funding

but their diplomats will make note of it

Australia made a cunning choice, they've always worked on building closer relations with the US

whereas UK is doing it because they are close enough that they can quarrel, like husband and wife laugh.gif

to put it kindly, everybody fears violent Arab-Muslim responses

to put it bluntly, those terrorists hold the world at ransom to their whims, and there are few govts or leaders strong enough to stand up to them

I really think Mrs Clinton would have been diplomatic enough to satisfy world politics, and cunning enough to continue prosecuting a drone war on these bastards

Let's see whether Trump is really serious.. the way I see it, the statement was a political statement.. trump wants to show his supporters and voters that America is strong and don't care about world opinion..

Btw, the total of the fund for 2018 financial aid already been slashed by half.from 40b to 20b

Unconfirmed report that the Indonesian Air Force is also interested to procure the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter to support its fleet of EC725 Caracal helicopters.

QUOTE

Australia to end air strikes in Iraq and Syria, bring Super Hornets home

Australia will end air strikes against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and bring its six Super Hornet planes home after three years as part of the U.S.-led coalition in the Middle East, Defence Minister Marise Payne said on Friday.

SYDNEY: Australia will end air strikes against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and bring its six Super Hornet planes home after three years as part of the U.S.-led coalition in the Middle East, Defence Minister Marise Payne said on Friday.

She told a media conference the decision was made following the Iraqi declaration of victory over Islamic State.

"Following discussions with Iraq and with members of the international coalition, the Australian government has determined that we will bring home our six Super Hornet strike aircraft from the Middle East," Payne told reporters.

"It has been long. It has been arduous. It has been brutal. All of our personnel made an extraordinary contribution."

Australia has been in the Middle East as part of the U.S.-led effort against Islamic State since 2014.

Payne said other Australian operations in the region would continue, with 80 personnel who are part of the Special Operations Task Group in Iraq, including Australian special forces, continuing their deployment.

He asked the army to do a readiness-risk assessment in case the UN passed a resolution that would require blue helmets in Jerusalem (a call which Malaysia has answered for the past 50 years)

The pondan Hisham being one of many stupids in the malaysian government said something totally different to the public

New high for Japan's defence budget

TOKYO • Japan's defence budget will swell to a record US$46 billion (S$62 billion) for the next fiscal year, the government said yesterday, as the nation shores up its missile shield against the threat posed by North Korea.

The defence spending was part of a US$860 billion national budget for the fiscal year starting in April, also a record as medical and social welfare costs snowball in Japan's rapidly ageing society.

The defence budget rose for the sixth consecutive year, as Japan seeks to bolster its military in the face of threats from the regime in Pyongyang, which has fired two missiles over the country this year and vowed to "sink" it into the sea. Last month, North Korea test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile that plunged into the waters of Japan's exclusive economic zone.

The extra defence funding will cover the cost of preparations for introducing the US military's Aegis Ashore land-based missile interceptor system.

"At a time when North Korea is beefing up its ballistic missile capability, we need to strengthen our capability fundamentally," Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera said earlier this month.

During his first visit to Japan last month, United States President Donald Trump backed a more militaristic Japan, saying the Pacific ally should buy US equipment to protect itself. "It's a lot of jobs for us and a lot of safety for Japan," said Mr Trump.

Tokyo also plans to purchase long-range cruise missiles with a range of some 900km from US firms. The move is controversial as Japan's pacifist Constitution bans the use of force as a means of settling international disputes.

Japan's military policy has long been restricted to self-defence and relies heavily on the US to attack enemy territory under the Japan-US security alliance.

Mr Yukio Edano, head of the opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, said the offensive missiles will be a "fairly big point of dispute" when lawmakers debate the budget Bill next month.

While insisting that Japan will maintain the decades-long policy, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he wants to review the country's defence capability to match it with "the severe reality".
