is there any button on the keyboard that i can just turn off the monitor only and still run the com?

coz i got another laptop that i can just off the monitor. i cant seem to find any on dell.

just configure the dell to turn off display after.. example: 5 mins? or to configure it to ''do nothing'' when u close the display. it will off the lcd screen

lol, theres no THAT button on a dell, so when u close the lid, it actually turn off the lcd

when i close, by default it goes to sleep mode.. gota change the settings 1st

For windows vista only:

You can change the power option at the control panel:

If you just want the LCD display to turn off while the system continue running,set this 1 minutes on turn off display.After 1 minutes it will turn off the LCD display and everything on your system still continue running:

Another way to turn off just the LCD display by closing the LCD display lid, set this:

for XP :

to turn off the LCD monitor when lappy is idle :

Control Panel->Performance & Maintenance->Power Options->Power Schemes->Turn off monitor->Choose the time u want the monitor to turn off itself when lappy is idle

to turn off the LCD monitor when flipping down :

Control Panel->Performance & Maintenance->Power Options->Advanced->When I close the lid of my portable computer->Do nothing

that's very simple, open the center hinge cover, you will see directly 2screws each on both lcd hinge, tighten up!

2min settle. can do anytimes rclxms.gif

oo, i put high rate, but then again.. regretted since they didnt give me any bonus or discount

*hmn** it will not. if not what is the purpose Dell publish the link from my previous post? not agree about this then you can read the long T&C. but of course you need to bear your responsibility, this is the main point. only old man, aunty, etc.. of course they worry and scare... hahahha, dun do lor.. spent some time to call, email....
