steven, are you joking?

one can never run dual channel without 2 similar sized rams. Even if the cpu-id show dual channel, I am sure that is a bug.

Dual channel have a proper configuration only can work.

The best is to check using your laptop system bios.

ok , alright ...might be my fault...but dual channel only improve + - 10% only ....

i dun really think that 1.5gb ram will lose to 1gb dual channel ram , am i rite ? laugh.gif laugh.gif

running higher capacity ram is better than running 512mb ram x 2 .....

I came across certain people that says dual channel would be a lot better with applications but when it comes to games single channel and more RAM will perform much better.

NoNo..you wrong..last time model dual channel juz can run in 512MBX2,or same size.Nowadays board, can put 512MB+256MB,or 1GB+512 togther run in dual channel. Its intel inovative technology. If dont trust go see intel website. It begin since the 945 chipset.

One question, if I don't want the microsoft work and mcafee, can I ask dell to discard the option for me and ask for a discount or substitute it with other feature? Thanks

Don't think that is possible....

I know how useless those programs are, especially Microsoft Work IMO

So how long would it takes to create a partition from a new lappy? And use 3rd party software or use vista install cd better?

hm..i'm not sure bout vista but i assume its around the same..for me, format + partition + reinstall xp = 30 min or so

the backing up process is the one taking hours of my time!

thats y i suggest u do the partition now rather then later

Since the 1st time u dun partioned it,the second time ur only1 partiton cant be extend anymore unless u format. :cool2:Or the 1st time u create 1 partiotn, and another part haven be partioned..then u might can do like that.
