once u deleted the recovery partition , so far there is no way to get it back unless u send back to dell
*
I read from somewhere that as long as u have formatted ur computer, even without doing anything to the recovery partition, it won't work already.

Anybody care to clarify?

Best to order on a monday, so you can get on Friday earliest, worse come to worse on following Monday.

If in KL, even faster, 4 days if not mistaken.

Patience is a virtue...hehehehehehe

One question, if I don't want the microsoft work and mcafee, can I ask dell to discard the option for me and ask for a discount or substitute it with other feature? Thanks
*
Don't think that is possible....

I know how useless those programs are, especially Microsoft Work IMO

Yeah...thats why its strange...but yeah, i do lift up my laptop slightly..facing me..cos im using the Zalman notebook cooler...it lifts it up from the back..but so far i think i know the reason why my notebook is so hot..im running 90 processes..is that alot of processes? But seems like most of it are from vista and dell....please advise.. blink.gif
*
90? shocking.gif that's a bit too much right? Try to cut down.

That's the thing with Vista, so many background programs running, me running 2GB of RAM also feel it's much slower than XP. I have thus reverted back to XP, until Vista comes out with SP1 at least. biggrin.gif

Well, Dell's motto is to make sure their technical support is No.1, so they really have to cater to all the needs of its customers, no matter how small it is... biggrin.gif

it is dirt cheap, for 2gb of ram, and a good graphics card. plus 3 yr complete cover somemore.

That's technology for you, u can never keep up!

so many ppl tempted by the new gpu eh?  my next move would be back to desktop again for gaming purpose
*
Agreed. Laptop, no matter what, is juz for its portability. If it can play games, already a bonus! (IMO)

Although I am tempted at the 1520 with its nice GPU, I've learnt to close one eye, and just bear with it. It's a fact of life.

Although, I don't really like the new design, except the colour lid though. It looks cheap, especially around the sides of the keyboard, like how ours have the white strip. Just my opinion.

I thought 64bit Vista can run 32bit applications too?
*
Think can. But the point of going 64bit is to run 64bit applications.

I feel that unless it is totally justified to go 64bit, stay 32bit. My 2 cents. biggrin.gif

Vista runs pretty slowly on my 6400 ever since I upgraded to it from XP. And I'm running 2GB of ram etc.....Since that, I have downgraded back to XP.

My bro's new acer laptop running natively on Vista runs so much faster, I don't get it, plus our specs are so similar.

Maybe there is a difference when the laptop is either configured for XP or Vista natively, I don't know.
