Ok bro, your neighbour does not complain. But I am sure your heart will complaint! Have you checked your blood pressure? The sub & the huge Klipsch speakers will pound your heart like no other biz if you do watch action movies too often. This is a health tip..........!

htkaki, the klipsch speakers are rated at what sensitivty? 93dB ?
I understand that Klipsch are always carrying higher sensitivity and easily be driven with most receiver.

Unfortunately no tongue.gif

As I mentioned, it being calibrated properly it won't go pounding your heart smile.gif . The Klipsch is churning out mellow and deep bass. Not those hard hitting type (yikes!) rclxub.gif

As for the CHT-12R, it goes low enough w/o really beating the crap out of your heart.

My other neighbour's son like to crank up his Hi-Fi / HTiB (I guess) to near deaf volume at times. What I could really hear is the bass (hard hitting distorted bass) that overwhelms almost all other music instruments and vocal. WHoompa... whoomppaa... BroooM.. bOOMM.. BRooooooOOM (distorted mah). That really pain to my ears doh.gif

95dB to be exact rolleyes.gif Frequency response is 36Hz-20kHz±3dB. Somehow, I feels that it goes way lower than my center spkr (40Hz) and my surr (45Hz).

htkaki... when my family first getting our AV stuff, I auditioned JBL, Tannoy and Klipsh.

JBL is more on the higher pitch... Klipsh on the bass... and Tannoy was just right for LAser Disc. Kekeke... I think it is the same model we audition as yours now.

We bought Tannoy that time and until now, my sis still using it.
Denon Amp and Tannoy speakers. Bought somewhere in 1990 or later...

Hi,

Share my experiences ;

I started off wif a JBL setup wif Marantz dpl amp way way dunno how many yrs ago .. still runnin de jbl tlx 30 flrstndr in my ofis..

Now runnin Tannoy LCR(m5 n mxc) wif marantz 7002 n its way way better than de jbl for music.. movies .. cant really tell much.. wat wif de booms whiz bangs ..

Dunno abt klipsch but american spkrs are usually bright n I dont tink they are an exception..

I oso hv a paradigm 7semk1 - huge(nearly 4 ft high n a foot wide) uglee flstndr which is just heavenly for both HT n music.. in fact if its not so damn butt uglee, I d hv swapped it for my living room ht.. its gud really..

Jus my 2 cts

He! He! Not yet... didn't manage to take any photo. Strangely... Mezzo Manual itself advises us to run in the speakers.

Connect different polarity for 1 speaker, face each other at a 10cm distance and run for 36 hrs. Hmmm....

You can do that. However, you can also just listen to normal music at low volume a few hours a day, but this way it will take longer to burn in.

I was impatient to listen to my speakers at it's real performance, so I used the reverse-polarity face-to-face method. biggrin.gif

Speakers need burn in because of moving parts and the driver cone material maybe too rigid straight from factory, but not the cables.

Not only for Model Mezzo, but all MS models. I bought the Avant centre 905i and the manual also says the same thing for all Avant speakers.

I doubt why we have to put them face to face. Cant we just play it like normal position for 36 hours? Kind of strange....

What about Sub? How to do run-in issue? Play soft music for few hours a day? Do we need to crank-up the sub volume a bit high than the front speakers coz while we play soft volume, the sub only works a minor, maybe not enough for run it in.........

Face to face only if you leave it running while you're away. While face to face with one speaker reversed polarity, the sound will cancel each other so it will be almost quiet.

Like I said, you can also listen to music at low volume few hours a day, only it will take longer. It's totally up to you.

I am running it at face to face right now.
I thought it is more of the polarity thing... didn't think of the cancelling of sound. Anyway, it is still very loud. Ha! Ha! I put it to pro logic now so that my centre and sub also running. Kekekeke...

But my worst worry is whether my player can tahan or not... tonight gonna switch it off.

Hey do u have astro?

If you do, turn it to channel 851 radio. Choose your favourite station and switch your receiver to PL Music II or any 5.1, then you can rest your worries to run it in the whole day rather than the player.

I switch to PL Music II so as to run-in my new MS Genie Sub and MS Avant Centre. icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on November 18, 2008, 11:33 pmBut dare not to run it the whole day due to thunderstorm weather lately. Thunder may strike anytime.

Err, I can only have few hour at night time after work. Getting very impatient right now. Imagine 36hours as recommended by MS.

I have astro but not hooked up to my system. Astro is upstairs... Movie downstairs. Kekekeke...
Although I have pulled all wire around for Astro... but I did not get the splitter.

Anyway, watched Iron Man today. Hmmm... I really miss my PJ... and watching it was fun.
As for the sound... hmmm... I think I will need lotsa setup to do... coz the sound was just not so right.
