my problem is ...

bought beginner hifi, then realize omg, needed to buy better dvd player (for living room) with digital outs & hdmi. then realized cos the budget amp doesn't have direct 5ch analogs inputs, I needed to buy a dolby digital live soundcard to output 5.1 through optical. then now after watching a few movies i feel my screen is too small, need to upgrade.

i initially wanted to spend 1k on a 5.1 newbie set for my comp, now i'm already 3k spent and itching to spend more sad.gif sad.gif

btw i asked this in a separate thread but nobody replied ... regarding digital coax, is there a huge difference between a REAL digital coax cable and just any yellow rca video cable?

Coaxial is a 75ohm cable, which is the same white thick cable being used to feed astro signal to the decoder. The yellow composite cable might not do the job as well as coaxial cable.

The yellow rca video has no shielding against interference. So whenever you turn on other electric equipments like TV or lights, you will suddenly hear no sound coming out from ur receiver.
You won't have this problem if you are using a good digital coax. I was using a yellow rca video cable before I upgraded to a QED digital coax. In terms of audio quality, I can say it is almost identical.

Can't really compare though. I've been using real sub cable throughout my HT life, first monster, now QED, since I did a mojor renovation for the room, and now all the cables are QED Silver Anniversary and Performance.

How would these cables be delivered to M'sia? Air freight or sea?

Did you pay for tax? etc?

Sld be by air. Try to keep below RM500 in total value to avoid tax.

Got my CHORD silver screen cables just now. So happy after 2 months wait. Arrggghh.... Why? Coz my company's office boy did not clear it for me. So, after checking here and email everywhere... I got the package. It is at least half of what Malaysian shops are selling.

Happy with the pair but have yet to test the diff compared to chap palang cabls.

htkaki... at last... I think I have resolved my leaking problem.
So, 2 good things happen to me today. Water leaking and cable... all in 1 day.

After fixing my plaster ceiling (wait till the leaking really dries up first), I will properly set up my AV although I have been using my projector to play MEtal Gear Solid 4... hahaha... syiok.

Wait for me until end of this month... At the same time, I got to get my TV cabinet done first.
