!!!!

Where's all the sifus that constantly talk about high-end stuff? Or are they vendors only, can't expose their shop's HT setup pics?
*
Chill dude,

First off not everybody wants their living/HT room exposed to de world. Also as sum of you already commented this is a braggin thread, so sum dont like to brag...

Oh ya, just to clear de misconception a 720p Pj isnt exactly hi end - if you are talking ringgit here, than I guess you can compare to a 42in lcd but not top of de line even , a 2nd liner maybe...

For us to share some views and comments is good enuff, I think, no need for me to prove to you or anyone else dat I really own wat I say...

This is my view only, of cos ... others may have other opinions thou'

Cheers and have a nice day

A shop that selling office stuff here in Penang is selling 8feet x 8feet projector wall screen (dunno what brand) at rm488 without delivery, my car cannot carry it too so I didn't buy....

Bro,

Tat one is for multimedia presentation .. u want 16:9 screen for HTla.. For dat u nid to look for it in Hifi shops, u can try Watts or Hifi choice but its all expensive la..

i suggest u dont get retractable screens.. i heard problems with this and some can leave unwanted bumps.. look at how dirtrun make his screen.. very nice~ built in the wall.. fix screen is nice and u can even diy it which means good for the wallet..
*
Bro,

Thanks for de compliments but my screen is elcheapo diy la.. no brand chap ayam wan..

Retractable screen is cool if u get de powered ones n it cums down from de ceilin .. but u r rite retractable screens normally hv 'tension' prblms later - waves n all tat..

Haha i have a healthy respect towards diy's.. so haha i never underestimate them.. same goes for ur screen! lol.. but srsly i really like how u create those 'covert' shelves on the side and they become hidden while watching movie.. really nice
*
Haha..

Tat idea came cos when we had guests over n it wasnt convenient to watch a movie (like say we were in transit n had like an hour to kill - u cant finish a movie in an hour..) everyone was liked transfixed on tat off white blank wall starin back at us - so wanted to hide it la n bingo tat came to mind.. anyway its all manual n on rails so nuthin fancy there..

DIY is cos I m a poor man la.. if got money I go buy Stewart Firehawk liao...

smile.gif ok ok, thanks for the info, I'll share back here after survey... meanwhile, I went to a AV shop selling Naim amplifier in Gurney Plaza (near Best Denki) few days ago... all their stuffs are too high end for me sweat.gif  sweat.gif ... they are selling QED speaker cable at rm8/meter... and according to their boss, the front speaker in their demo setting is rm20k+ per piece (dun ask me what brand la, I didn't memorize the brand)... crazy arrr....
*
Haha,

No nid to patent la.. besides do u know how much it costs to submit a patent n how long to get it done??

GP hifi shop is CMY n de spkrs r Pro Ac.. GP is upmarket mall la so rental is uber exp = prices oso lo..

I d like to add even when u r talkin budget systems but still quote branded cbls n interconnects, why ah??

hi hi, I just come back from Watts... I'm buying 3 spikes for my sub woofer for rm25/each (including the base of the spikes)... for the projector wall screen that I'm looking for, I think I'll get from them after Hari Raya or may be end of next month... as they can arrange the lorry to directly delivered the wall screen to my house instead of I carry it back with my small car... they also didn't keep stock for wall screen due to space concern and need to order with them if I really want... they also sale Optoma projector there, and they recomend me to use normal white projector screen instead of gray projector screen... actually, white projector screen and white projector screen what's the different in performance???
*

Hi,

Spikes.. only 3?? Is it not cones??

I dont tink any shop keeps screens in stock so u would hv to order.. BTW wat r u tinkin of orderin? Size?

Yup Grey screen better blacks but less bright.. which better U would hv to try both out n c for urself.. For me unless u got a totally lite controlled dedicated room better to just get de white screen..

Cheers

htkaki... when my family first getting our AV stuff, I auditioned JBL, Tannoy and Klipsh.

JBL is more on the higher pitch... Klipsh on the bass... and Tannoy was just right for LAser Disc. Kekeke... I think it is the same model we audition as yours now.

We bought Tannoy that time and until now, my sis still using it.
Denon Amp and Tannoy speakers. Bought somewhere in 1990 or later...

Hi,

Share my experiences ;

I started off wif a JBL setup wif Marantz dpl amp way way dunno how many yrs ago .. still runnin de jbl tlx 30 flrstndr in my ofis..

Now runnin Tannoy LCR(m5 n mxc) wif marantz 7002 n its way way better than de jbl for music.. movies .. cant really tell much.. wat wif de booms whiz bangs ..

Dunno abt klipsch but american spkrs are usually bright n I dont tink they are an exception..

I oso hv a paradigm 7semk1 - huge(nearly 4 ft high n a foot wide) uglee flstndr which is just heavenly for both HT n music.. in fact if its not so damn butt uglee, I d hv swapped it for my living room ht.. its gud really..
