if i were u and dont mind used bike,
i'll wait till oct until dec. saw many buying bike as a trend ad monotorium from the banks leaves some people got a lot of money. i dont think cycling lifestyle will be forever for trending follower.
lets hope we can get cheap quality bike for a jackpot price!

Could visit 2 bicycle shops here in Penang.
1. Giant Store: only have 4 types in stocks, cheapest is 1350 RM, then 1800 RM, the other 2 more expensive, so I did not even ask.
2. Lim Cycle Outlet, only have 16" or smaller, could see a Java which cost 1300 RM. The 20"in what they refer as beginner bikes are all sold out. Next delivery mid of Sept.
So, still need to hunt further.
