Hi all,

Is Raleigh UGO still a good buy?

I saw 1 listed for RM880 new.

Or should I get a used Tern C7 at RM1000?

Thanks.

This is the one I saw, but I wonder why the price difference so big while USJ cycle is selling at RM1,199
*
8-speed ugo, ok lah that price.

i have the 7 speed ugo, which i bought for RM650 back in 2012-13

i dont know about your legs, but if i am given the choice to reconsider, i would've gone for other foldies with more speed. something like mongoose or trinx. got a pair of weak legs so if i can have a smaller crank for climbing would be nice. too bad single crank at 52T on the Ugo i just gotta get down and push when the going gets too tough.

But it feels super bumpy when riding over brick road or bumps, is it because of the slim tyres?

*
bump is normal. you'll get used to it. if crossing very bumpy roads, broken surface etc, stand on your pedals, lift your butt up from the seat abit.

Hi all, I'm a casual cyclist and currently in search of a folding bicycle. Any recommendation for a beginner casual cyclist?

I did some research and on average, good quality folding bikes cost rm1000+. Is there any below rm1000?
*
Got. Mongoose, TRS can be had below 700 for beginner foldies.

Curious, why do all folding bikes come with such small wheels? What are the advantages?
*
foldables are meant for easy storage and transport. u put a big wheel, u defeat the purpose of having a foldable. ight as well get a proper bicycle.

trinx, raleigh, mongoose. i think both can get below rm1k, if u can find new old stock of trinx ka2016 or ka2016d, buy it fast. super good value for money icon_rolleyes.gif

ini barang sudah banyak rare... i still remember in 2016 i actually missed out on a bloody good deal. got one modded with dropbars, asking from RM900 only, bcoz i dont have a reason to add another bicycle in my crowded porch. come to think of it i still beat my chest over missing it.

small wheel the defining feature of a foldie. if you want a big wheeler, go full sized, because a big wheel on a foldie just defeats the benefits of fold.

synthe and cinder share the same dna. i had change helmet pads and rear lock. the parts are the same like synthe. the only different is only weight and design a bit.

another reason why i didnt get the synthe is becoz of the clone helmet is everywhere. u pay for lets say around rm800 for original synthe, but people would say u used clone helmet laugh.gif

U wear helmet for your head or for your pride?

i maintain 12kmh already took considerable pedalling effort already, i really dunno how much leg training to be done to achieve 30kmh cruising on a foldie.

Carrying a folded bike & walking among narrow cubicle corridors while sweating, I looked almost like an uninvited guest in the office space. sweat.gif

I guess it's just something that I'll grow accustomed to. Here's hoping that more people will start cycling to work too.
*
if dowan to sweat then get an electric bicycle or scoot.

go time use the motor. reach office ready for work. go home time baru kasi pedal. reach home can bath.

If u totally dowan wobble or flex, non-fold bikes is the answer.

Consider a mini velo smile.gif
