This is going to be frustrating, but we don't have an estimated date yet unfortunately. sad.gif (Also, we really don't want to give an estimated date and then fail to deliver). We will continue to push very hard with Maybank to have this reactivated.
Thank you for the word of support. I hope we can get it back before CNY too.
Thank you for this. We will continue trying our hardest with Maybank.
Actually Maybank has frozen the account, so you can't deposit money into it no matter how you try. Whether via App/Cash Deposit/Bank Transfer, it will show an error message.

Just to reassure -- even though the account is frozen, all your funds in it still remains safe and untouched.

On what grounds are maybank (and also BNM surely...) keeping the account frozen? Illegal activities? Money laundering?

anyways. @MrLuno out of topic a bit but with your knowledge in crpto and its industry, can you advise is the gain from trading in Luno is taxable?

Does Luno have appropriate assistance should we want to declare our income in Luno in the future? I.e (summary of trading profit / month?)

Not going to use Luno. There are many ways to withdraw for not going to declare nor paying tax should they impose taxation.

You are solely responsible for determining whether, and to what extent, any taxes apply to any transactions you carry out through your Luno Account, and for withholding, collecting, reporting and remitting the correct amounts of tax to the appropriate tax authorities.

- base from this, YES. i believe this would apply you are accepting bitcoin or etc. as payment
for goods and products.

That is a general line used to cover all regions Luno operates in. In Malaysia crypto would fall under capital gains and not be subject to tax but you still need to declare anything you withdrawal into fiat.

Unfortunately this "screen" still exists in the App/Website. However if you actually tried to deposit money into the account -- it will fail and not go in.

Hey man,

Actually different countries have different laws when it comes to crypto. The thing in Malaysia is (AFAIK), there is no regulation yet regarding taxation of crypto gains.

And yes -- IF/WHEN tax guidelines are already created -- we can look at how to help our users declare (assuming that this is necessary). Something like what you've mentioned -- summary of trading profit/month should be possible to implement, but again we will be waiting for if/when tax declaration is necessary.

To avoid doubt -- we are unable to provide advisory or consultation on how to declare tax; however we will try to make the process as simple as possible for our users.

Hope this helps!
