If you had bought from Remittano last Friday and sell in Luno immediately, today buy from Luno and sell at Remittano, you earn 50% already. This is opportunity bro.

crypto has a bad name due to such tactics. Luno discredited all exchanges in the country with their actions over the past month or so. Luno should've been transparent. It doesn't matter if you made 63% or lost 50% - this is bad for all traders and crypto enthusiasts in the country. no wonder regulators and govts. want to shut it all down. don't rejoice in the scummy tactics of such exchanges - gives the entire industry a bad name. your/my short term/one time gain is a loss for the foreseeable future of crypto in the entire country. when regulators come down hard i wonder who will be rejoicing being targeted for capital gains or worse: tax offences or money laundering.

Lets take a step back and think about how we'd like crypto markets to mature in this country in the long term. DO you think you could ask a corner shop or your grandmother to accept/adapt to crypto transactions under such circumstances? If wider adoption is low, how do you see any success in your crypto portfolio?

Update - We continue to work to resolve this matter as soon as possible. The IRB has now agreed to unfreeze our account while it completes the investigation, and we are working closely with Maybank to have the account operational again.

We’ll send out wider communication via email, in the Luno apps and on social media once we can confirm the status of the bank account.

Sigh.... they play with the words. while it completes the investigation... means when? how much more time needed to complete the investigation?

btw, i am not directing the question to you... I am just ranting.

sorry my crappy english, the word "while", isn't it means that they agreed to unfreeze even during the investigation process? If they unfreeze after investigation, they should have used the term "upon/after", no? confused.gif

i hope you are right then.

to me, if mbb freeze their account because of IRB and now if IRB already cleared them, why mbb not let their account operate immediately since the only reason is with the IRB.

I had many willing buyers for coins on Saturday at those silly prices. I'd like to thank them all so every much.

if luno did not resume the withdrawal, you are screwed man. anyway, high risk high return... those that believe luno manipulate the price remain unchanged no matter what... i found it funny that they did not learn how supply and demand works...

Maybank is the final gate to unfreeze their account.
so is still freeze until maybank unfreeze it.

Possible Maybank waiting greenlight from BNM.

Bro, if this case is real, MBB also need to wait official letter from IRB. Do you think IRB will be so efficient to issue letter to unfreeze your account? It will be more complicated if it involved BNM or court order.

If this is a irb case, why need greenlight from bnm? If bnm is involved, could mean Maybank intend to close the account.

If irb hasn't issue clearance letter mean the case is not yet settle.

Hi guys,

My name is Aaron and I've recently joined Luno as their community/marketing guy for Malaysia. I'm Malaysian and will be based in Kuala Lumpur. smile.gif

Just wanted to address some of the recent comments/questions in this thread. Sorry if I miss your query, if I do -- let me know and I'll respond. I'll check the forums about once a day, and try to answer everything.

1. Apologies to those who are still waiting for bank withdrawals. And sorry for being unable to provide a time frame -- it is really beyond our control that's why we can't even give estimates. Currently we are waiting for Maybank to unfreeze; and we are working hard with them on this. We really hope things can be back to normal before Chinese New Year.
2. We don't manipulate the prices on the exchange in any way. Again, it is willing buyers and sellers making bids/orders.
3. No, we're not dead/in trouble with BNM/giving up in Malaysia. Instead we'll be opening our office in KL very soon.

Do let me know if you have any questions!
