Thanks for the tips, been restarting both ever since.
The TM given Tplink AC1200 just took so long time to boot.
*
Yeah, the C1200 is infamous for its 5min boot time. The latest firmware has improved it a bit, down to about 3mins. Have you tried it?

Have to wait holiday to do these configuration things, by now stay with default first.

But I see all recommend the latest EU firmware, so just flash and good to go?
*
I think it resets to defaults so you'll need to reconfigure it after flashing so take note of your Unifi username and password.

Got Called TM last week but they seems only can reset and provide me a new password instead of provide me the current password.

So I didn’t ask them to reset because not at home that time. Have to find free time to do these thing.
*
TM is weird, SOP changes from person to person. For pppoe password I have encountered the following over the last 6 months:
1. Call TM for existing password, they read the password to me over the phone.
2. Call TM for existing password, they say cannot, have to reset. So they reset password and sms new new password to my mobile.
3. Call TM for existing password, they say cannot, have to reset. So they reset password and read the new password to me over the phone.

But anyway you can find out the existing password from the router. May also be written in the installation order form.

Hi guys, currently TM upgraded my Unifi from 30Mbps to 50Mbps.
However I just got 35Mbps through LAN connection.
My current router is DIR-615 and TM said I need to upgrade the router to get 50Mbps. Is it true or just TM want to sell me their DIR-850.
*
Not sure what's wrong but the DIR-615 can definitely handle 50mbps.
This is what I get with Unifi 50mbps and 2.4Ghz wifi in a very non-congested house.

How come when I run the speedtest from that URL, I got this screen?
[attachmentid=9320997]

I tried on Chrome, FireFox and IE. All the same screen.
What do I need to configure to make it works?
*
For Chrome: chrome://settings/content/flash

I tot Aztech will hv better quality if compare woth TP-Link as they r available in the market longer than TP-Link. -.-
*
I guess depends on one's experience with the brand. All my Homeplugs are Aztech. Not a single prob. The 500mbps pair, I used for about 4 years for my HyppTV STB. DLink is bad based on my neighbours experience, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs, no connection. Single phase house. Changed to my old pair of 200mbps Aztechs, no problem. So I sold that to her. All happy now.

Can you further elaborate this?

Can I do this?

TM ONU ---> AC1200 ---> Gigabit switch (connected with IPTV and Internet) ---> Powerline A ---> Powerline B (in another room) ---> Gigabit switch (Connected with smart tv, STB, bluray player etc)

Thanks.
*
Can't do it like that.

really?  where is your location.  my installation date is today morning 9.30am.    im just worried they wont show up  since now heavy rain.
*
How did it go? When TM came to rectify my neighbours UniFi problem, it was raining also and said that they have to wait for the rain to stop before proceeding. They came back an hour later when the rain has stopped.

he said standard installation meaning.  the fiber cabling already build in during construction of house.   those didnt build in 1,   need to pay for the fiber cable laying works.

just like telephone line.   if house already have telephone port.  then standard installation is free  just plug and play the devices.
....
*
Don’t understand. My house old house obviously no fibre built-in, no extra charge also. But mine was installed 5 yrs ago.

RM300 you pay the installer or going in your next TM bill?

It should be RM200. Cable fee is RM10/meter.
*
First 10m is RM200. sad.gif

QUOTE(tomastan4134 @ Nov 15 2017, 06:59 AM)
my case is underground cabling. due to the fiber box is green colour type which needs cabling through underground. not those on the pole type.

i pay to installer.
*
My apologies, I was presuming pole to house.

nowadays.  new house all using grounded green TM box.

on pole type TM box is for existing/old building.  which they can go through underground anymore.
*
I asked my cousin just now, also new house and underground conduit already built-in but with no fibre cable. TM charged him also but he only paid RM100 straight to the installer. Unofficially if you know what I mean. brows.gif Your installer didn't offer you that? Did he give you a receipt? Cause normally official installation charges goes into your upcoming UniFi bill.

100mbps incoming! rclxm9.gif

20 mins ago called 100 to see if I can get the upgrade done over the phone. Lazy as usual to go out.
Anyway, RM10 100mbps upgrade done. (from RM179 TQ Suprise 50mbps)
Breakdown is:
100mbps 299 + Existing Ruby 30 + Jumbo 60 = 389 less discount 200 = RM189
(Previously I was on TQ 50mbps 219 + Ruby 30 = 389 less discount 70 = RM179)
STD20 remains. 600mins to TM & OLNO landlines and all mobile. After 600min, free to TM landlines, others are chargeable.
Free Viu and BBC Player for duration of contract. iFlix until end of 2017 as already known.
Contract renewal 2 yrs.
Equipment warranty 1 yr.
Terminating Jumbo Pack or STD20 will remove discount.
Must have at least one HyppTV package.
Upgrade will take 7 working days.

Nice & friendly CS lady, when I asked, mentioned that the discount will remain after 2 yrs but I don't recall anything in the TnC that she read to me, that neither confirms nor contradicts that.

Update: Forgot to take the Order No, so today, Sat, called 100 to retrieve it.

*
Yeah, I based my call on these 2 shares posted here. I personally didn't receive any SMS.
