My home router is Asus RT-N12HP.

The computer in my room can hit speed at about 30mbps average on wifi speedtest. However, if I use LAN it reaches full 50mbps (Unifi subscribed speed).

I hesitate to subscribe to 100mbps, because I don't think any of my family members will benefit from it due to wireless N 300mbps limitation (connected to more than 10 devices at one time  hmm.gif  hmm.gif ) , unless I upgrade to higher end router.
*
Why so slow?

user posted image
My neighbour's RT-N12D1. I'm upstairs when doing the test. The router is downstairs in his house 12 ft away separated by a brick wall and a concrete floor.

Just checked the price of the Router , RM900 ++++    sad.gif

What you can do is split your router and wifi. Get a really good router like RB750Gr3 or UBNT ERX, around RM300. WiFi AP use back what you have or buy cheap cheap used one, 5 x RM80 cheap APs located around the house, guarantee better than 1 RM900 wifi router. But must have cabling already installed.

TM technicians came 30 mins early this morning. Very nice of them. Changed my old Huawei HG850a BTU to a new HG8240H. No charge whatsoever. Now to get the TM contractors to come over for the RM10 upgrade.

user posted image
The old and the new.

The HG8240H is quite nice, smaller than the HG850a, Has a flat top so you can put things on it without them rolling off like the old one. Wall mountable. Standard 12V PSU.

can the Huawei BTU HG-655A support 100mbps (grey color) ?
*
Can but not ideal, ~95mbps for 100mbps UniFi, since the ethernet ports are FE. (fast ethernet/100mbps)

changed because of broken or cause RM10 upgrade? was told the rm10 upgrade no change of equipment? not even the old silver hypptv box...  sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Changed because I reported the PSU for my old BTU rosak. Actually it already spoil months ago. Should have done this before I applied for the RM10 upgrade.

Anyway, RM10 upgrade for 50-100, I believe TM will change BTU if you're have one that's FE and router if you have a really old one. That's why I bring back out my old DIR-615. which btw works just fine on 50mbps.

My plan now upgrade to UniFi Advance Plus 50Mbps - RYE 2017
Call to 100 ,CS said the promotion price for 24months only ,monthly pay Rm140 instead of Rm169 for my plan... not make sense at all...So I just closed the call..
How come after upgrade the price lower?
*
Very odd indeed, if go by my calculation, not sure if correct.
189 + Ruby 30 + Jumbo 60 - Discount 140 = 139
Were you paying RM189 for 30mbps before the upgrade?

No, I pay RM159 for 30mbps before upgrade
*
So maybe now it's:
159 + Upgrade 10 + Ruby 30 + Jumbo 60 + STD20 20 - Discount 140 = RM139
Dunnolah, just guessing.

Guys, anyone got their upgrades fulfilled? For those that submitted their upgrade of RM10 via 100 call.
*
Still waiting patiently. Lucky it wasn't today cos right now TNB down.

What BTU do you have now?

Is there anyone here who submitted their RM10 upgrade via 100 call and already have a gigabit BTU? Have you got the upgrade?

Yep, you also Sg Long? Which model Huawei? If the old fast ethernet model then TM will change it to gigabit model before activating 100mbps upgrade. My old and new BTU, both also Huawei.

What BTU do you have currently? That's the one that TM wants to change. From FE to GE model. Your C1200 no problem for 100mbps.

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Nov 22 2017, 04:17 PM)
my BTU is similar to streamyx silver box type
*
What model? Is it fast ethernet or gigabit?

If FE, have to wait for TM contractor to come and change new one before you get the 100mbps upgrade.

@soonwai Huawei HG8240 model silver colour. Dont know whether it is Ethernet or gigabit? how to differentiate both of them?
*
Have to look up the specs. Can't tell physically but yours is gigabit so no need for equipment change. I think you'll get your 100mbps very soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

So the monthly fee will be RM200.34 (Inclusive GST)..... seems like quite expensive lol
*
I think it's quite worth it especially with the HyppTV Jumbo pack because I don't subscribe to Astro.
