*feels proud to be in the same forum* tongue.gif

About pickups, EQ777, yeah I think I'm pretty much decided on the Evo7/AirNorton7 combo. Can't go wrong with that right? thumbup.gif

yea wei. . . i'm sure beastmasta acting all humble and stuff. . . deepdown he is like a master 7 string user. . .

nice combo =D

the evo is well balanced and the airnorton is more towards the bass and mids. . . so overall it should sound very much balanced and also the output is very similiar so all in all very nice choice =D

wat EQ do you use on your amp? do you play with a scooped mid? if you do then mayb try out the blaze =D since the blaze is very much a scooped mid pup. . .

Thanks man. I normally like to playing slightly scooped with just a bit of mids to cut thru and sound a bit more 'full'.

Well I was considering Blaze but as I said, it may sound too similar to my Steve's Special and would like to try something else.

But knowing me, I'll just adjust the EQ till it sounds the same! doh.gif

Thanks again for coming for the gig man, Calvin (hehe on a first name basis already). Really means a lot to us, considering u've never even met us before!

And all that 'sifu' nonsense is utter rubbish! You're just waiting for us to come watch your band and get our a****s kicked right. Haha no matter, we can always exchange knowledge. wink.gif

Erm... EQ, I know this strictly speaking isn't a 7-string question, but I was wondering about the pickup "buzzing" on the 1527... When I run my GT through a Hardcore Max halfstack in the jam studio, I get the buzz which is bloody annoying when I play "attack" or stop-and-go parts.

I've tried turning on the noise suppressor on the GT with the threshold set at like 50 or so, but it seems to act a bit strange. It seems to only work if I do the following:

1. volume pedal set to zero
2. raise volume pedal to "full" position while muting the strings with my hands
3. hit the chord/note etc.
4. quickly drop the volume pedal back to zero and raise it back to "full" position while muting the strings with my hands (i.e repeat steps 1 and 2 quickly)

If after step 3, I just try to mute the strings with my hands, the bloody buzzing starts... unsure.gif

But I didn't seem to notice the buzzing last night though, while playing through the Smarvo amp. Could it be a problem because I'm running through a halfstack ya think?

I know you're running your GT through an AVT combo right? You got face something similar?

And no one better tell me to back off on my gain! It ain't happening, no way! Grrr... vmad.gif hehe... whistling.gif

haha malu lar. . . cannot win you all 1. . . nxt time we open for you =D

and yes. . .the buzz i guess is from the pup. . . thats why im changing my pup. . . my AVT150 buzzes when the volume is up. . . ( pity my neighbours)

when low volumes it doesnt buzz.. . and one more tip try rollng your volume on your guitar. . . it works for me.. . i roll down the volume on my guitar and crank up the amp and pedal volume. . . that is why i came to a conclusion it is our pup. . . i dont think val has the same problem?
