I'm gonna revive an old thread instead of starting a new one here.

Does anyone have suggestions for a bang for a buck 7 string? Looking to spend under 2.5k.

I've tried a 7 string Schecter from DrumStore Paradigm as well as an LTD one from Guitar Collection, and both seem kind of meh to me.

I'll be playing stuff like Periphery, Animals As Leaders, Veil Of Maya and Monuments.

Suggestions would be great!

Not much choice la sub 2.5k laidat, Lespecially if LTD n Schecter dont work for u. Could try Jackson perhaps.

What is it that those guitars seem meh to u?

most of the time the guitar setup and amp tested could influence your decision more that the guitar itself

As for Jackson I somehow only found 1 which is under 2.5k online, which is the JS22-7. Not sure how that sounds, but I'll definitely give it a shot. Any other suggested models from Jackson I could check out?

I think for the Schecter was probably due to the setup. They had me play on a tiny 10 watt amp, and the 1st string was gone.

As for the LTD, I'm not sure why I wasn't really feeling it. Plus, I already own 1 LTD so I may as well switch it up.

And are there any Ibanez 7 strings in that range worth checking out?

i usually dislike ibanez necks but their 7 string necks feels right at home, better than schectera, which for me is too chunky

you can try looking at fb group jamtank, often seeing some good ibanez 7 strings being posted for sale

nabzblitz bro, the model is what u mentioned, JS22-7. He swapped the stock pups with a SD Pegasus/Sentient combo, we were testing it out in the studio and it sounded pretty good. Cuts nicely thru the mix and distinct alongside my BKP Blackhawks

just some input...how do you enjoy playing 7s with loose string or tight tension?
research more on selection of string gauge and importantly the guitar scale length itself
